I love this simple verse in the bible. What does God ask of us? To do justly and love mercy.
And of course, Jesus said, love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Another verse, "do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to their own interests, but to the interests of others".
This is why I love the bible...it has wisdom and the highest of callings on our lives.

I believe that we should all live secular lives and be more particular about who we reproduce with. If people develop radical ideas they can be peaceably dispelled from the community. Our society should be built around the needs of the family group (but no prejudice against gays), and governed by a congress of randomly selected citizens. The congress group will be changed every 5 years, and no one can have more than one period in the congress. Families will be limited to 4 or fewer children, and jobs will be mandatory and available. Somewhat like the community described in the Giver, but without the lethal injections or pills.

The word of God says we are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strngth and to love our neighbour as ourself.
The truth of this is that genuine love will work no ill toward others. It always has respect, honesty, forgiveness, understanding, it knows when to be gentle and when to be firm, it knows when to be soft and when to be hard.
Love always builds up and encourages. It motivates to greater things and sets a standard that is easy to live. It is the great peacemaker and strngthener. It always helps others and overcomes.
If we live our loves as the love of God is, then we will always live good and worthwhile lives that will be a blessing to ourselves, and to each other.
We will always care and be considerate. Kind and thoughtful. Respectful and worthy of respect. Honest and trusting. The list goes on.

I think if everyone lived Godly lives and resisted the devil, this world would be peaceful. We should always conduct ourselves in a Godly manner in all situations, whether it is amongst our families, in society, or/and toward each other. Since all people don't live Godly lives, we should conduct ourselves with brotherly and sisterly love toward all people, despite race, creed, or color.

I think we should treat everyone, from family to friends to strangers, with respect and an open mind. I never realized how important respect was until I ended a 17 year marriage for lack of it. We need to stop thinking the world revolves around us and our wants. If I treat you with respect, and you treat me with respect, then both of us will get a lot more of what we want and we'll be happy as well. Aretha said it best: R-E-S-P-E-C-T!

I am not going to tell other people how to live their lives. That would be grossly arrogant of me.
The way I live my life, that is best for me:
--I treat others as I would like to be treated
--I give all respect until they give me a reason not to
--I don't sweat the small stuff
--I don't take life too seriously
--I don't dwell on things
--I respect other people's rights to live as they will, believe as they will, and love as they will as long as they are not causing harm to others

We should live our lives in service to others.
Be responsible, positive, and productive citizens.
We should work hard, take care of our families...not look for the easy way, or depend on others or our government to hand over money and benefits, etc.

Well I believe the best way to live our lives is in a porductive and moral way. This is a vague answer because argueing about morallity with out discussing Religion is impossible. Being productive is importiant because pride is developed through productivity, and that is nessisary to be happy.

The best and most adventurous way that I have found to live is "to do all things as unto the Lord and not unto man." Learning to live in the Presence of God changes how one treats others, it brings in a dimension of the sacred, it makes the ordinary extraordinary. As I live in this way it makes room for God to enter into my life, to reveal Himself in so many beautiful ways. As I love Him in serving those closest to me, He shows me how very tender and intimate love is in the simple acts of life. And I have come to learn that the closer I come to Him, the closer I come to others.
