is it wrong (or at least considered bad taste) to wear a Rosary like a neckless?

The Rosary is not a piece of jewelry.

The Rosary is a tool that can be used by anyone in prayer.

The Rosary is rarely worn. Some religious sisters in habits wear them.

If you choose to wear a Rosary then remember to behave accordingly. Just like wearing a Cross or Crucifix, you are telling the world that you believe in and are trying to live the Gospel message.

With love in Christ.

It's seen as abusing the rosary. The rosary was not made to wear as a necklace, it was made to hold when saying prayers. I hate it when celebrities wear them. I asked my dad about this a while ago and he said that as long as the rosary has not been blessed, than it really isn't abusing it. If you have a blessed rosary and wear it like a piece of jewelry, the Catholic church is highly offended by it. I was raised Catholic...

It depends upon why you are wearing it. I have seen it done, but usually by a nun, and under their outer coat.

I wouldn't reccommend it, becasue it is more of a prayer aid and guide than a necklace. There are many necklaces with crosses or devotional medals that you can find if you are looking for something like that.

Most of my family are Catholic and they never do that. A Rosary is for prayer, not for jewelry.

Yes. The rosary is a tool for prayer, not fashion.

It was created to teach those who could not read or have access to the Bible about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

It is also a form of bible learning, meditation, and prayer to enhance spirituality and our relationship with Jesus.

I don't know if it is or not, but I used to wear mine as a necklace (mind you, I'm not really catholic, but my family was.) They never told me "That's in bad taste." So I'm assuming no.
