Who is Muhammad?

I know He is the Muslim Profet. I know he had a lot of wives, but that is understandable for those times. I heard that he had a wife that was 9 years old. Does anyone know that story?

I know who He is supposed to be, but WHO he really IS is my question? What kind of person sleeps with a nine years old, and what kind of people follow a person like that?

Muhammad married Ashia when she was 6 years old. According to the story, this was at the urging of others, so he did it. But because Muhammad was such a holy man, he did not have sex with this wife until she was 9 years old.

By any of today's standards Muhammad would be arrested and guilty of being a pedophile. Here is a good reference for you,,,

I do not know of the story of him having a 9 year old wife but I do know alittle about the Prophet Muhammad even though I am a christian. He was a man born in the century of the 500-600 A.D. Muslims believe that God spoke to him and he is the last prohet. The holy book of Muslims (Quran or Koran) are the words that Muhammad says are the words of God. These are not stories to them but actual words spoken to him by God. All Muslims believe in Abraham, David, Moses, and Jesus and place special titles on them. Unlike us Christians they do not believe Jesus is the Messiah but a prophet and that Muhammad is the last prophet. During their most holy times they take a pilgrimmage to Mecca to throw stones at the Devil just as Rachel (Abraham's wife did). When they speak the names of the prophets they say before or after "Praise be upon Him" and when they write the names of the prophets they will write before but I think usually after "PBUH". An interesting fact is that earlier the Muslim religious order consider the practice of Whabbism (which is what Osama Bin Laden and the radicals practice) as a abomination to the religion and would persecute them. However, recently in the history of the world the Saudi Arabia royal family allowed them to practice this form of Islam to placate them so they could continue to rule. This is why they are so radical. Although Islam is a lot stricter than our society there were steps put into place to prevent the persecution of innocent people. Jews and Christians are considered to be of the book also and are not to be persecuted and innocents are not to be killed. However the radicals have hijacked the Muslim religion just as the Kings of Isreal hijacked the Jewish religion, the Popes of the Middle Ages hijacked the Catholic religion, and for Americans the Christians hijacked the Christian religion which brought about the Salem Witch Trials. It should be the hope of all people that the moderates of the Islamic religion will defeat the abomination of Al-Queda and bring back order to the Islamic religion. We may not pray together but together we can pray that we all will band together as the Children of Abraham and defeat Satan's army. God Bless and know that Jesus loves us all.

That's only what you know about him? .. Wouldn't you know what made him a Prophet or just interested in his personal life? People who actually took the time to study him had this to say abut him:

I don't understand your concern. We obviously don't follow him for who he sleeps with. The man carried a powerful message. There is no proof that he slept with a nine year old. Scholars through time have debated how old she was, there are two hadiths (sayings of the prophet) which claim she was 9 but the credibility in lacking. Why? the narrators were outsiders (lived in Iraq, not Mecca or Medina) they were a father and son. which indicates the son got his info from his father. They don't have an narrated any narrations to their credibility other than these two sayings. Also, there are more saying with solid chains (all the narrators were known to be reliable) that say that Aisha was 5 yrs younger than the Prophet's daughter fatima which states Fatima got married when she was 21. Now, the of aisha and Mohammed marriage took place in the same year his daughter fatima married . Do the math. She was no younger than 15, there are many other saying that point to this too. His marriage was not controversial at the time and was common and acceptable according to their standards as even his enemies who were very vocal in criticizing him, said nothing against his marriage.
Mohammed first marriage was to khadija. He was 25 and she was 40. He remained married to her for 25 yrs and had all his children from her. At a time people had numorous wifes and concubines. It's only after she died he married 10 yrs after. She remained to be the dearest to him and all his later wives were a witness to this. Aisha was the youngest of his wives, most of his other wives were widows, old ,lacked in looks, had children. Many of his marriages were to make alliances with tribes, take care of widows, ... which indicates lust wasn't a factor in his marriages nor was he after little girls. Aisha was the daughter of his best friend, she was offered to him, she was previously engaged to some other guy before him. Which is a sign his marriage was totally accepted. Muhammad married Aisha, his only virgin wife, because she was the daughter of his best friend and advisor, Abu Bakr. At that time, people became closer through marriages, so Muhammad and Abu Bakr both wanted this marriage to happen so they could become closer friends. It was common at that time for men to marry young girls who were "of age" meaning had started menstruating. It is clear that this practice was not unusual because even Muhammads opponents at that time did not mock or use his marriage to defame him, as many non-muslims are doing today.
And, I think it is very hypocritical for people to think Muhammad was a pedophile when he MARRIED the girl, while catholic priests go around molesting young boys behind closed doors...

The first thing I should point out is :a man does not turns pedophile at the age of 54 as almost every non-muslim is claiming about Prophet Mohammad PBUH

Second thing is, to all those who are practical in life, they must have come across people who at the age of 50, have the maturity of a teenager. N I have come across people who matured in mind faster than in body ( I even read an article sometime ago on a boy who by the age of 9 had shouldered the responsibility of 5-8 siblings and a drunken mother). By the way, it is a scientific fact that woman mature faster then men especially in countries with a hot climate. So the possibility that the Aisha by the age of 9 could be matured physically at the least can be proven by scientific data.

Many parents even in this century even in countries like America and Europe do not take their children seriously. Instead, the teenager of today have a score of boyfriends and girlfriends and they have sex with whoever they want and then comes unwanted children and a lot of complications. Even if these complications do not arise, teenagers often turn out brats and drop out of school. Very few go to college with their ambition and their will. Sometimes, the case (as in Asia) seems to be that the teenager is often forced to study by their parents.

When Prophet Mohammad married a girl so young, it could also like telling the Muslim population at large that children and their upbringing should be taken seriously as they can make decisions for themselves at a very young age. This was later proved true when Hazrat Aisha adviced the Khalifas as young as the age of 18-20 (when she was widowed). In today’s world, a teenager as young as that can only think of shopping, their girl/boy friend, their sex life, ways how to escape their parents and live on their own and other unnecessary things. Few have any good ambitions or goals set out.

Considering Mohammad was a pedophile, why were the rest of his wives widowed and in the case of Hazrat Zainab bint Jash a divorced woman??? His first wife, Hazrat Khadija was a widow 2 times over and older to him by 15 yrs. It was she who proposed and he accepted it when he was 25. His second wife, Hazrat Sawdah was a widow and older than him too.
N Mohammad is still accused of being a pedophile.

Considering the accusation that Hazrat Aisha was molested continuously by Prophet when she was a child, she should have suffered (by all scientific facts and reason) a sever mental setback resulting in almost madness. But it didn’t. Instead, Imam Zuhri who was a leading jurist at the time quotes :

“Hazrat Aisha was the most learned person among the people. Senior and learned companions used to consult her”

“If the knowledge of all men and the wives of the Prophet PBUH were put together, the knowledge of Hazrat Aisha would exceed it all”

Similar quotations are many to be found such as by Abu Musa Ashari and Umar bin Zubair. There is not enough space to quote it heere

IF Mohammad molested his young wife, why did she sang praised of him in his life and death??????

With the evidence above, it is illogical to say that Mohammad was a pedophile mainly on the reasons that he had so many wives and that one of his wives was 9 yr old. To such people, this answer should be enough, all other wives were widows and a man does not turn pedophile at the age of 54

Prophet Muhammad is a direct descendant of Isma'il, the first son of Prophet Ibrahim(Abraham). Prophet Muhammad was born in Makkah as a fulfillment of the prayer of Abraham as explained in the following verse of the Holy Quran, a book of revelations from God to the Prophet.

you wanna know what kind of person he is? go read his biography, you wanna know what his 9 years old wife Aesha thought of him? read what she had to say about her husband (pbuh) you wanna know why people appreciate him? search his name and you will find plenty of information on why he is the most influential person ever lived!! there are books that written on prophet muhammed even by non muslims!! see what the scholars of all nations have to say about him!!! there are plenty of info for you to know!!
