Metal expands when heated... and sometimes it doesn't expand uniformly... as it expands, some parts may expand more than others and cause the pan to warp a little. making a popping sound when it passes it's flexibility threshold.

Ever notice how the cold pan's shape is slightly different than the hot pan's shape? The metal in the pan expands as it heats and causes the center of the pan bottom to flex, making the sound. The actual popping sound comes from the sudden nature of the pan surface, as it flexes, hitting the oven rack.

All things expand from heat and all things contract from cold. The center of the pan is "popping up" because the pan is expanding.

because the temperature of the oven warps the pan. every time the pan is put in the oven it expands and when it is taken out it goes back to it shape, so after so many times it loses some of it original shape so that it gets warped, and pops.

All metal expands when heated! The molecules must expand when heated or contract when cooled. It doesn't matter how expensive the pan is, all pans will do this naturally.

It is probably good heavy metal. When it heats up, the base expands and makes a pop sound. It probably POPS when it reaches a specific temperature.
So as long as it doesn't wreck your cooking, it's fine.

Your pan is experiencing pain from the intense heat of your oven.
The popping sound is a cry for help.

the heat of the oven causes it. usually it my airsealed cookie sheet that does it. it is the air between the sheets of metal expanding. nothing to worry about tho. my pan has been doing it for years, and everything is still great.

The metal is just contracting in the oven when it is heating up. It has startled me a few times in the kitchen.
