Multiple birth babies are more likely to be smaller at the time of birth.
Maybe I shouldn't have tried to answer this because I'm not positive about whether or not they will end up have a shorter stature, and I think that's what you want to know.
I do know that "small mothers/small babies; large mothers/large babies" is something doctors tend to think tends to be true. I also do know (from experience) that a baby born prematurely and very tiny catches up and reaches a height that pretty much looks like what everyone else in his family has.
I may be wrong, but I think a child's potential height is programmed in the DNA, and will only be affected by something
like poor nutrition. It might make sense that multiples may not quite get what they need before they're born, but I think making up for that nutrition-wise is entirely possible and likely once the children are born and in the process of adding height.
An interesting spin on this question might be identical multiples versus fraternal multiples. Another spin might be the impact of prenatal nutrition and growth and development versus nutrition and growth during the years prior to reaching adult height.
The only reason I've written this is I thought it might offer some ideas for possibly re-forming your question and getting the accurate answer you want from that.
(It would seem to me that maybe your question should be under "health", "medicine" (maybe), "biology" or even "other sciences".
Finally, just a thought - While there are plenty of people in the world who think its important to be tall or who think tall is better, there are plenty of people in the world who don't see being a petite , feminine and delicate-appearing woman or a neat-as-pin, kind-of-compact guy such a bad thing. Average heights for men and women have quite a range. Even if being a multiple did rob a child of an inch or so it wouldn't be a big deal.
