Why YES I believe it WILL !
I think it will someday be below $1 a gallon.
This, of course won't happen until ALL of us stop consuming so much of it.
The more WE use Alternative Fuels & Hybrids & Electric Vehicles.. THE DEMAND for gas goes down & so does the price.
Think about it , it's not the Oil Companies that are raising prices to get more profits.
When Oil was $20 a barrel , we could buy gas for $1.25 a gallon.
Now that OIL is hovering close to $80 a barrel, we should be paying $5.00 a gallon......but we're only paying $3.
That means that Oil Companies have REDUCED their profit MARGINS but increased their overall profits because WE have increased our consumption. & the government is eating a big chunk of their 'would be' profits in additional taxes that they didn't have years ago.
Stop using so much gas.

It's possible, but not likely.
My guess is in about another year or so, you'll be asking if gas will ever be below 3 dollars again.
In concept oil companies are to blame for this but consider that oil is a scarce resource. There is a high demand from it, especially from China and Asia in general. Coupled with various factors such as a major oil field getting shut down by BP because apparently they didn't care enough to maintain back in 90s due to the gas prices being so low. The hurricanes and fighting in the Middle East doesn't help either.
Gas prices vary from region to region, country to country. And there are taxes that are added to our cost.
You can also factor in the government as well in this.
Conservation, as you already know, is key. Unfortunately, gas prices are high. And it affects everything else such as food prices.

Yes. After they go way up past $10.00 a gallon in the next 3 or 4 years, more and more people will buy hydrogen fuel and hybrid cars. As soon as those cars way out-number the gasoline cars, the price of gas will drop below $2.00 again. Probably in about 2018 or so...I can't wait :)

mockingly GW replaced into the only which signed "No baby Left in the back of" bill which had a large type of bi-partisan help and those underfunded city colleges theory it replaced right into a reliable theory. yet what actual occurred replaced into each of the really undesirable little ones wound up contained in the lecture rooms distracting all of the different little ones and further down the completed effectiveness of the faculty room. The president won't be able to make a figure examine a baby's homework. that is a very complicated situation. merely about as complicated because the question, what replaced into it back?

remember in the 80's it was about 79 to 85 cent per gal.then it went up to about 1.20 and stayed for the longest time. While we were paying this gas overseas was around 3.00 per gal.
I think we will be around 2.80 to 3.00 in the south for a while. So get use to it and get a better job, raise,or move closer to work.

no because the oil companies know we will contnue to pay no matter what they charge.first the raise the price from 2.00 to 4.00 then they give us a brake and lower the price to 3.00 and we say thank you then they raise the price from 3.00 to 5.00 and then they give us a brake and lower the price to 4.00 and we say thank you are you seeing the pattern yet.
