The vengeful king notion of god reflected the harsh times that created it. People created a monarch in heaven that reflected the virtues and failings of their mortal kings. A "jealous God", and "vengeful God", a God that has to be placated and flattered like a battering parent, and who curiously demanded the people give money, land and food to his priests. ;-).
I would be a God that would never demand anything except that people not lie about me and use me for duping their fellows. I'd put in a personal appearance from time to time to remind everyone that contrary to what anyone might tell them, I didn't approve of anyone hurting someone else, but I'm not going to police the community, certainly not going to authorize anyone to take power in my name. I'll let them know I don't think much of someone gathering obscene wealth they can't possibly use while someone else is starving, though if they do, I won't be the one to do something about it. I'd remind them if they needed it that they have all the resources in themselves and their fellows to create a paradise for all if they choose, or the opposite if they choose, but the choice is theirs. And I would tell them they have only the life they have, so use it well, find the happiness they can and enjoy each other, that I think love and compassion hold the most promise as ways to promote happiness and long life, that all non-abusive sex is fine with me. No heaven. No hell. Happy to chat over coffee and offer my opinion, but no consequences if you ignore me and tell me to get stuffed, because a God with a fragile ego that has to be flattered and toadied up to is a piss poor excuse for a god. And if humans hose it up and kill themselves off, and I have to start again with Lemurs, well I have eternity to get it right after all, and if they find a tree to make themselves eternal and godlike in knowledge I won't kick them off the planet for it.

If I were God, which in a sense I am for my children see me as their creature and judge. As Sara's mother was told in The Crow, "Mother is the name for God on the lips and in the hearts of all children." Anyway, I would be fair, there would be no other punishment for people's actions other than the way other people acted towards them. "Do unto others..." would certainly be a big one for me. I would need no believers nor followers and any that chose to would simply be more enlightened in the ways of making their lives peaceful and successful than those who chose to ignore my teachings. I would require no churches nor sacrifices and my ultimate goal would be to simply see happy people helping to make other people happy as well.
I know that sounds sort of boring but as I said I see myself as a god already and those are the rules and goals that I have currently for my children. Best wishes

A God of love and compassion, mercy and forgiveness- for every single one of my little creations - no matter how bad they were, I would find it myt heart to forgive them. I don't believe that God's 'perfect righteouness' sends people to eternal hell, even though the bible seems to say that it does. How is it that an imperfect human could forgive, but God couldn't?

I would be much more vengeful and not as merciful as the one true God is. I am human and my temper is terrible at times. Also, I have a total intolerance of double standards among some people such as how it's OK for blacks to be racists, but not whites, it's OK for Muslims to kill innocent people intentionally, but no one else can do the same unintentionally when they're attempting to kill the Muslims who are killing the innocent, it's OK for women to be sexist, but not men, it's fine to hate Jews, Christians, whites, and men but if you hate anyone else it's politically incorrect and insensitive-those kinds of double standards are the ones I am talking about. By the way, the one true God is Jehovah/Yahweh of the HOLY Bible, not allah. Allah is Satan in disguise.

I would be a "Just" Goddess. I would not threaten anyone with eternal damnation just because they don't believe in me, I would love all the people of the earth, and let them learn their ways that would work best for them. I would answer their prayers and assure them that I am there.
But this job is already taken by my goddess so I cannot take the position.

I don't want to be a god, Be thankful for the god that we have who is merciful and good. God is forgiving and merciful, and he also punishes those that he hates. God does want people to worship fervently and to convert people, But you are not doomed for failing to worship as he wishes, no one can worship non-stop in everything as sinful as we are.
God never commands kamakaze attacks on non-believers. And God did show himself as Jesus and in other cases in Scripture.
He never Lies at all.
He never pretends to love people, and He even hates some people.
And we are his children.
I am happy to own worlds inside my PC, I need nor want anything more.

common. some reason their very very own suffering, some reason the suffering of others, and the 'god of the international' reasons the superb suffering. God reasons NO "suffering" He in simple terms facilitates us to pass with the aid of puzzling instances with a view to strengthen our soul. If one is placed in a subject the place there is unquestionably no way of escaping it then it replaced into not a try from God by using fact he won't placed us with the aid of extra desirable than we are able to deal with. "God had one toddler that in the time of no way sinned, yet in no way had one that did not go through."

A bad one, I would be unwilling to let my son Ronald die on a Roman torture/execution device on the behalf of people who were cursing him and me. Unlike God in who's service many people have become better people (Mother Teresa serving the poor, Charles Colson from political hatchet man to helping criminals get a new start, and drug addicts and alcoholics who leave behind their addictions). I would probably want people to serve me only for my own gain. Think of all the abuses of power you have heard of starting with Hitler through Enron and beyond. When people get power they often change in bad ways.

If I were a god, everyone would fear me.
Those who didn't worship me would suffer the pain of a thousand deaths. My domain would be in a massive fortress in another dimension, where my hellish minions of destruction reign hell upon the mortal races who do not accept me as their lord and master.
The world would be Hell, basically. I'm an evil god.
