In many countries in the MIddle East, if you do not believe in their religion, you can get the death penalty. But in the United States, we have the first Amendment. It guarantees the freedom of speech, but it also does more than that. It also give every American the freedom of press and freedom of religion. I think that the fredom of religion is what ticks of all those dumba s s terrorists. To them, if we dont believe in their god, then we deserve to die for that reason.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Who told u this rubbish that 'if u do not believe in their religion, you can get the death penalty'. THIS IS STUPID

Muslims were the lords of Arabia for 1400 years. For a few years the British ruled, and for a few years the French ruled. Overall, the Muslims ruled Arabia for 1400 years. Yet today, there are 14 million Arabs who are Coptic Christians i.e. Christians since generations. If the Muslims had used the sword there would not have been a single Arab who would have remained a Christian.

The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are bearing witness today that Islam was not spread by the sword.

n pls get this clear. AMerica dosn't gives freedom of reliegon to Muslims. When a girl wears a hijab, she is looked down upon. She can't enter her university or get a job. N this is what u say as 'freedom of reliegon'

n if u REALLY want to know why the middle easterners hate US n Eurpope n Russia so much, take a walk back thru history and see what they have done to us. It is all a plan but u r brainwashed so I wont waste much time here

Then why don't they attack switzerland, Holland, Swedan. I heard these countries gurantee freedom of speech, and religion. Also, do you know there are over 6 million Americans that are Muslim, half African American. If belief "in their God" was their reason, why are they Killing Muslims in Iraq? on a daily basis. Over 16 thousand Iraqis died so far in attacks terrorists targetting them since the beginning of the war.

So, I disagree.. it's got to be a bigger reason than that. Please don't blame it on Islam because I am a follower of Islam and a practicer it's got nothing to do with my faith.

I agree, but what to do about it? I think the media on both sides should report more objectively, instead of how many deaths occure in Iraq (or elsewhere) each day, we nead to know the history behind it all. The reason behind the latest middle east conflict goes back more than 60 years.

Did you know that there are Palestinian Christians? As well as Lebanese, Syrian, Iranian (even Jews in Iran), Turkey, and every other Muslim country. Saddam's Vice President, Tariq Aziz, is a Christian.

I guess it's back to the drawing board.

BTW, it is forbidden in the Quran to compel anyone to follow Islam. It says that God will punish Muslims who apostate, but non-believers are free to believe as they choose. It says that Christians and Jews will go to Heaven if they live a righteous life.

Actually this is not new, but I'm glad you finally got it. The Koran teaches that "infidels" must die etc., etc. Since America (and the UK) are comprised of mostly "infidels" the terrorists focus on us. They are patient and sneaky.

I support a strong intelligence arm (FBI, CIA, NSA, etc) in our government to head off attacks, or even take out key figures in terrorist organizations.

Hey! Want to hear something odd. The poster who was near the top of this list just disappeared when I clicked the thumbs down button. Apparently, I was the sixth one to do so. I was going to report them for their vulgarity, but I can't now... they're gone... interesting, isn't it?

'nuff said?

They hate america because it stands for prosperity---technology, the financial systems, communications, etc... They don't complain when they use the internet, cell phones, television, and banks to do their terror networking though.
We also represent immorality to them, we are way to liberal for their dark age religion. They feel threatened by it.

They see how many muslims become modern muslims and they think that's blasphemy. They want to preserve their backward religion.

Islam has been at war with the West for centuries.

According to the Koran, apostates who leave Islam must be put to death. Since the Middle East does have a few Islamic states, they do try to enforce it. I'm not sure that's why they hate us, though, because the U.S. doesn't have very many Muslim apostates.

Disagree.

The United States and Europe have had a long history of occupying their lands and giving them bum deals. Then we made them move aside and put Israel where it is. That kind of thing builds up a lot of resentments.

Adding to the hate are relgious extremists who see our support of Israel as a manifestation of evil. Then you have the occassional missile strike on their lands that aren't as accurate as we'd like to imagine., Then you have the sects all competing for dominance...it's easy to wrap them around a cause. A common enemy: The USA.

Is it right? No. Is it entirely without reason? No.
