I am polite, I grew up in Europe and in my day we even had to curtsy for the elderly. I think that being polite never hurts and most people smile when you keep a door open for them or if you thank them. It is a pleasant arrangement,

Yes, I do try to be polite. It is part of being civilized and promotes harmony in a society where many must share space. And of course, I like it when people are polite to me. It says a good deal about about a person's character when they treat others rudely. I never go on another social outing with someone who treats wait staff rudely. Sometimes just being a little polite can make another person's day and they in turn are polite to others.

I am polite. I try to teach kids that value. But too many adults don't have any or won't use them. I like when people are polite and don't think it's a waste of time.

I lived outside of Boston for 5 years where NO ONE is polite. They won't use directionals, beep for no reason, and basically drive like morons. I relocated to a place where people use their manners a little more, but for the most part it seems phony since I've been here.

I am polite and I value it very much. I can't tell you how many times I've been told, "I wish everyone were as nice as you are." It is definitely not a waste of time.
People who are rude to others usually are treated rudely themselves....and then complain about how rude everyone is. I've found that if someone is continually treated rudely, they need to look to themselves and ask what they are doing to bring out such behavior in others.

I would have to say, Yes, that I do try to be polite to other people. I try and be that way out of common courtesy. Like the phrase, "Do Unto Other's".

Yes, I'm polite and yes, I very much prefer polite people to rude ones. Who wouldn't? Though courtesy and respect seem to be antiquated ideas these days, don't you think? I'm doing my best to raise my daughter to be polite and she is, but she sure gets aggravated when other kids aren't. (-:

I always try to be polite...but I do admit to being rude sometimes, especially on the road. I guess that's something that I have to work on...but at least I own up to it. some people are in complete denial of their rudeness...
