We had a problem in my daughters kindergarten. I let the principal know, several times....He claimed he'd try to resolve the issue with help from guidance councelors...

Well, he didn't and our problem escaladed very badly. There were many others in the class having problems with her teacher too.

I went to the principal, no appointement and demanded that she be switched to another class......

He had no choice but to do it.

Kindergarten is a very important time for kids...They are so young and impressionable, do what you have to to help your child. You are his advocate. You decide, not them. It is important that he is comfortable, it could make a huge difference in his future outlook on school.

GOOD LUCK to you. I truly hope it all works out.

Ask for a meeting with the principal and guidance counselor. They will usually want to work with you and are very willing to try and make a young ones first experience with school a good one. Are you sure its the teacher and not just going to school in general? Is he used to being away from you? I only ask because my son did the same thing last year in Kindergarten.

Don't hesitate to ask for another teacher if the problem continues. This could be a temporary separation issue but if that is it, a good teacher should be able to put it to rest. All should go well in that class then. If not, you should change teachers.

Talk to the school and ask them to work with you. If he has problems with the new teacher, then you know your son has the problems and not the teachers.

Talk to the principal about the situation. If there are other classes he can get into that aren't already filled and wouldn't involve moving other kids, your child can probably move into another class.

You need to find out from him why he doesn't like her. I think you have to have a valid reason and then speak with the principal.
