Your local pet store/supermarket will have boxed food made especially for parakeets. DO NOT give "Susan" rice, unless you want to kill her. The spices might not be good for her either.
Parakeets are seed eaters. If you don't have any bird food in the house just yet, you can give her some unsalted sunflower seeds to tide her over (until you get back from the store).

Cajun sounds great to me. Maybe it'll give her a southern drawl, but then again, she might just die.

Give her Cheerios until you can go buy her birdseed. Dried fruit
or regular fruit will work too. But whatever you do, don't give her
rice.

you dont give a bird rice. it swells in thier stomachs and can either make them very sick, or even kill them.
