My OB recommends at 30 weeks which is the 7th month, that way in case the mother goes into labor early, the shower is already done and she has all she needs hopefully.
I wanted mine at 30-31 weeks, but sit now at 32 weeks and still no shower. But I was in the hospital at 30 weeks so hoping the shower is either in the next 2-3 weeks or will be after the baby comes but before fall really gets here.

The best time to have a baby shower is between 7-8 months on in there pregnancy as they don't have much time before the baby is born.

I'd wait until the mom is at least in her 7-1/2 months pregnant. That way, you can be almost sure that the baby would survive if anything horrible happened.
