I'm too honest with people and sometimes it brings me trouble.
I may get rejected by a girl just cuz I said how much I really like her, or I want to help somebody and turn into a "slave" of that person.

1. Read and reread the Maxims of La Rochefoucauld until you fully understand them. They are a masterpiece summary of human nature.

2. You COULD take my seminar, which is a toolkit for preserving your soul. Honesty and kindness cannot be preserved by being honest and kind all the time --because you'll wind up bitter, instead! Here's a newspaper article about my seminar:

3. You could devote your life to ACTING SINCERE, imitating flight attendants and conceirges. That will "cure" you of honesty and kindness and imbitter you even faster than the previous example.

I know what you're saying although I'm not a guy. That old saying " nice guys finish last" sometimes seems true does'nt it. You sound like a really nice guy and it sounds like you've been dumped on. Rejection is a really hard thing to deal with but don't change because of some thoughtless person. I firmly believe that there are people out there who appreciate honesty and kindness. You don't say what your age is but I think the older you get, the more you realize those other people don't matter. Don't give up on the whole human race.

Without the particular details of your problem, I would have said get elected to public office, you'll never see honesty and kindness there.

Experience will help you figure out when to hold back on the full truth and when to put the brakes on your generosity so I hope you've been paying attention. (That's the problem with life, there is a test in the morning!)

Keep being honest. You'll be a happier person in the end. I hate liars and so do most people. Just learn from your mistakes and next time wait a bit before telling the next girl how much you love her.

The school of hard knocks will certainly teach you what not to say to people. There is nothing wrong with honesty or kindness as long as the other person doesn't take advantage of you because of it.

honesty and kindness should never be cured! You sound like a good guy. Never change, just be cautious of whom you open up to and share your honest and kind heart.
