My dad said to to my brother today, "Your room is dirtier than your sisters. That is embarrasing." How does this sound to you?

He said it to sound like for once I had actually cleaned my room and kept it clean for longer than 1 day. It almost made me want to say, "I'm right here, you know."

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Do you mean how does it sound grammatically, or did he mean your room is dirtier than your sisters, meaning your sisters are dirty? Let's analyze: Grammar-wise, he should have said, "Your room is dirtier than your sister's room." I'm sure that's what he may have meant -- not that your sister is dirty. That's my take on it, but I could be wrong. In either event, it's obvious that your brother's room could stand a good cleaning.

sounds to me like you both need to stay home, and do a major clean-up in both of your rooms. Wouldn't dear old dad be surprized if the smells coming from your room were of clean floors, and clorox dissinfected linens?

Clean up your acts.....put those dirty clothes in the hamper...and while you are at it. do a load of your nasty wash too. Vaccuum, dust and throw out the trash.

Be respectful of the room that you have. Some children have to share rooms with other sibilings at least you have 1 of your own! There is no reason on this earth to be a PIG.....

It sounds like your dad thinks your brother's room is dirtier than yours. Don't take it so
personally. It'll all work out. Remember....
Don't sweat the small stuff.

Sounds like he thinks you have a messy room all the time. I would have made the comment "I am right here you know" I would also have asked your dad why he made that comment I would have said what do you think my room is messy all the time or what?

My first guess is that he didn't think through what he was saying. Maybe you should offer to help your brother clean his room and dad will wonder what in the world happened to both of you!!
