OK - I am curious to know why people that don't believe in God spend time thinking of questions and asking questions that are about God. Is it that your really curious about it, or you just want to see the answers you can get?

I am not trying to get anyone upset, so please don't take it that way - I just want honest answers. If you are curious - there is nothing wrong with that. And if you just want to get people all upset, I guess that is your choice as well.

Which particular brand of God are you talking about? With all of these different permeation of God it is so hard to figure out which one could be the real thing. So, what better way to find out than to ask questions. Asking questions is the first step to knowledge. I wish, someone could come up with an answer that makes sense, so far no luck. Funny thing, when you ask a question that requires something other than a caned statement such as, "it's in the Bible", one gets very few answers. Why do you suppose that is?

Well, I for one, consider myself open-minded enough to admit that I might be wrong. I'm willing to believe, if someone can show me some kind of actual proof...not "because it's in the bible" or " because god said so" or "it's called faith"

I'm genuinely curious as to how some people can believe something that is so utterly unbelievable TO ME. I'm not actually trying to upset people, although it may sound like that when I get frustrated. Just tryin to understand. And I still don't, so guess I'll keep trying.

John 15: 18 - 25 tells us the what and the why many atheists, satanists, witches, etc. come here.

There are also strivers and dissemblers - they live to cause trouble, to mock, to scoff, to scorn, etc.

But there are some people who honestly want to know because they are seeking. And that's why I come here. Because Jesus said, "Seek and ye shall find." He also told us to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel, making disciples....." So here on the worldwide web, we can teach the bible to those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. We can give them the Word.

I try to break through the ego projections that are worshipped as god. AMany major religions have painted a picture of god that is in line w/ people's thought systems -- judgmental, rewarding, punisher, believer in sin, etc. It's so predicated on our ego thought system (strive to do good to get a reward) that it's an obvious ego projection.

Dear MoMof3: Thank you for your demonstration of non-judgement. "If you just want to get people all upset, I guess that is your choice, as well."

They can't upset anyone unless you wish to be made upset. They DO feel upset themselves - but it is Free Will to do with your Self as you desire! MOMO, your attitude toward them is the proper attitude. Three Cheers!

Why is the Religion/Spirituality category filled to brimming with Atheists? Why aren't they spending their time elsewhere? After all, this hardly seems like a forum that would interest them!

I offer to you that there is an underlying discomfort in anyone who turns their back on their Identity - their heritage - their inheritance.

I, myself, had an aunt who professed to not believe in the existence of God. She spent her entire life singing in church choirs ! Through song she felt peaceful. Through the music of praise to our Creator she was vigorous and felt well being. She has lived an excellent life. Always done the best thing for others. Yet, if you ask her, she will say, "No, I do not believe in God. I simply believe in living a good life and doing the right thing." She has done that. But her whole life was spent singing in Choirs.

It sustained her. It centered her. It put into her life the very thing she was denying. There is anger in that denial. Loss of a child. Many things - for many different people.

Atheists hang out with believers - poking at them - hoping to incite someone to give them the break-through their soul desires. Someone who will retort to them the one single thing they need to hear - that will give them a chance to see what others see.

We are not created to deny our Selves or our Father. The great Separation has taken its toll upon the Children. I, myself, want to remember this. The toll upon the Children.

This need not be. The Plan for our Return is in place. For your safety, Comfort, Guidance, and Remembrance the following is in place: Eternal Life for Safety. The Holy Spirit for your Comfort and Guidance (He is the mechanism for miraculous energy used on your behalf). Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Man and the Son of God, simultaneously - as we all are - for teaching us Remembrance.

The Journey inside of Time can be an iterim heaven if we learn how to achieve that. A wonderful wait - before our Return. I witness to you it can be achieved.

others really are curious, others just sorcastic, others just want some answers on what they don't understand/know/not clear about.

And check this out, to all believers, when it comes to questions or questioning, God is looking at 'how' you answer the questions as a christian not how they ask it. Are you equiped, are you ready, are you prepared. Coz we have to always be prepared and know that questions will always rise against us from those against Him.

I think many people who say they don't believe in God are really not sure if they do or not. Hopefully they are searching for Truth when they ask questions about God. I have never understood why someone who claims to not believe in God will get so bent out of shape in a discussion about your beliefs. I have had them screaming at me before. Then I wonder , if they really were atheists they would just pity me and shrug their shoulders thinking I am a fool, but they wouldn't get angry.

I think it is both. The unsaved are asking questions and are on the defensive b/c of peer pressure.Or they don't know how to ask the question and are "feeling "it out on the answerers to get some clue to what they want.. We should pray for each one that does ask an annoying question.

I come and I ask and I answer because I wish to teach others just as you wish to teach others. I feel you do not have the correct information, and I am trying to do you a service by asking you to think about these things.

I asked a similar question of Atheists and never really got an answer.

I do ask questions of religions other than my own so that I can better understand people's beliefs, never to attack them.
