*I was told that perfection is not a sin. Yet the bible says that only God is perfect, and it is a sin to be like God. Am I wrong?
*I was told that humans make mistakes, that Satan created sin, but that contradicts God's perfection. How can God be perfect and all knowing if he did not himself intent for sin to exist? Either God is wicked or he made mistake. Either way, God isn't perfect.
*How can God hate sin, if hate is something which is not of Goodness?
*How can God be perfect, and make imperfect beings?
*How can God exist without ever being seen?
*How can God love and hate us at the same time?
*How can God be trusted?
*How can you believe a God written by the hands of man?
*How can Satan be to blamed, if God created Him?
*Can God be perfect, and imperfect at the same time?
*Is God human?
Am I right, am I wrong, am I both, am I neither? Does God not say this?

God is perfect, because he says he is. He also believes in the theory, do as I say not as I do. Seems like all of you are confused and don't really know what to tell me. Thanks for proving my point.

God is perfect.

In response to the specific questions ask above...

1. Perfection is not a Sin. It is not a sin to strive to be like God in character and perfection.

2. Humans make mistakes. Satan rebelled against God; he didnt create sin. God is perfect, and he created angels and humans with free-will knowing fully that some fraction of the angels and humans would reject him (God) and choose sin instead. This is a price God was willing to pay.

3. God hates sin; i.e., God has a strong dislike for sin. To hate what is wrong is not wrong. To hate evil is not wrong.

4. God is perfect. There is no logical connection that says a perfect being can not make imperfect beings (for specific reasons of his own).

5. God has been seen.

6. God loves us but hates the evil we do.

7. God can be trusted because many of us (Christians) have histories of relationship with Him which have demonstrated to us (Christians) that he is indeed trust-worthy.

8. God was not "written by the hands of man".

9. Satan can be blamed, because he uses his free-will to choose evil.

10. God is perfect. He is not imperfect at the same time.

11. God is not Human. He is Spirit.

Cordially,
John

What you are missing is that God is perfect, but he's also a pretty wise being.

He gave us the right to choose to accept or reject him, and that is why it's our responsibility for what we do.

Yes, God is perfect and we are to be like God. But when we elevate ourselves (pride) and think we are as good as God, that's where it falls apart, and is why Lucifer fell (because he thought of himself as God). What we are to emulate are those Godlike qualities.

Yes, God gave us the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, and sin came as a consequence of Lucifer's fall.

God hates that which separates people from him. It's the idea of hating the bad things but loving the person.

God exists without being seen because he is an elevated being. When we demand that God appear, we are treating God as nothing more than a cheap magician at our command to do our bidding. God is to be revered and adored, not to be treated as a genie who is there only to grant our wishes.

Satan can be blamed because he made a conscious choice to reject God and elevate himself.

So I don't agree with your logic on this.

AND I'm willing to guess that you won't pick any answer that refutes your logic, but will only pick someone that will agree with your post. If that is true, then just how open minded are you?

Because they see it as a cause, and not as a portion of God's dream of justice, equality, peace and beauty for the whole of the human race. The mentality of the average is Christian is spoon fed via slogan laced songs, catch phrases and WWJD type merchandise. Just shallowness. It has become a cause now that the US leadership tied their war against terrorism to Christian fundamentalism.

OMG, this is the best question I have ever read here. And you are so right!!!!!!!!!!!! Mainstream Christians defend something that they don't know so much about.

As a bible college grad, I found out so much about the origins of the bible, it would make some of the main-streamers heads spin.

Christianity definitely has Pagan DNA.............

You are way off base.
First, you let others lead you around with a ring in you nose.
You apparently can't make a decision or come up with an idea of your own to save yourself.
All you wrote here is dribble that someone told you and you go around repeating it all to everyone showing your stupidity.

If you are thirsty, you go to the well for a drink. No one can drink a drink for you to satisfy your thirst.

Everything is already written down for you to find and put to use.

Answer: You are wrong. Don't blame your Creator for your stupidity.><>

yes you are wrong, we can not be perfect, so it cannot be a sin to be it, since it is not possible, but we are to try to be and one day we will be

Free choice allows sin, God did not wish to have robots but loving people

To hate wicked is not a bad thing, you are twisting words using poor logic, but of course that is your plan

God made us the way we are you or I can not judge his plan

God can love and hate why not, you are trying to limit God

Faith

Man is blamed because it is his free will

god is not imperfect that is only your warped idea

And you are completely wrong but you knew that already

Swedenborg states "a perception of the sphere of falsity from evil that flows forth from hell has often been granted me. It was like a perpetual effort to destroy all that is good and true, combined with anger and a kind of fury at not being able to do so, especially an effort to annihilate and destroy the Divine of the Lord, and this because all good and truth are from Him. But out of heaven a sphere of truth and good was perceived, whereby the fury of the effort ascending from hell was restrained. The result of this was an equilibrium. This sphere from heaven was perceived to come from the Lord alone, although it appeared to come from the angels in heaven. It is from the Lord alone, and not from the angels, because every angel in heaven acknowledges that nothing of good and truth is from himself, but all is from the Lord" (Heaven and Hell n. 538).

the idea is that one will gradually be made more in the image of god after the baptism of the holy spirit. this is a gradual process.
unfortunately, most people who claim to be christians really aren't.
they're getting fewer and farther in between.
their god is their check book.

You clearly have no knowledge of The Truth of The Christian Faith.... let me put it in language you might understand...God makes the rules...you do not... you may not like the rules so you are free to not live by them if you choose... But you are not alowed to make up your own... so.. When you do not live by God's rules you are the olny one to blame for the concequences you suffer.. And it is clear that you choose not to even learn God's rules... Your loss.
