It's hard to know what things (beside you) that are bugging an adult. It might be bills, her job (or lack of job), her relationship, failed dreams, ... who knows. Don't always assume that it is about you. You may just happen to be around and she takes it out on you. Is that fair? Not really, but people sometimes just react and don't realize that you then feel like she hates you.
Later when she isn't being so touchy, tell her nicely that when she yells at you, you feel like she hates you. Maybe she will apologize or she may try to be more fair. Ask her if something is bothering her.

It's probably hormones which does not justify her treating you that way. She could have said what she wanted to say with respect towards you. One of the most horrible injustices of this life is for parents to treat their children regardless of the child's age with disrespect. Life is so short you may have to be the adult here and next time she treats you disrespectfully try to call her on it .Believe it or not she maybe oblivious to her behavior. I survived a mother who was both verbally and physically abusive. No one deserves to be the scape coat for an out of control person. Like I said depending on her age she could be experiencing hormonal imbalance which can cause irrational aggressive behavior. At the right time try talking to her and tell her how her behavior hurts you and that ....you're concerned when she treats you that way---- not just for you but for her. Find a Friend to talk to. Can you talk to your father?? Or another relative? I.m sorry she spoke to you so harshly.

Your mom could be going through some problems in her life(as we all do). Just do what your told and lay back 4 a little bit. When the times right talk to her and work things out. We all need someone to comfort us once and awhile. She loves you. Otherwise you wouldnt be living in her house.

I would say," Mom, I would like to listen to some music and you go ahead and watch what you want. We need to compromise and each do our own thing. Can you understand that I have needs to?" Then if your mom is still uncooperative, then call a relative of friend and ask for help.

And I thought this was really a case of hate. Your mother doesn't have to go to another room; you do. She's the adult; it's her house. You're just whining because you didn't get your way. There are kids out there who's mother's do have a problem with them. Time to start growing up!

Keep the lines of communication open with your mom. You need to have a deep converstaion with her and ask her why is she doing these types of things. Ask her why she keeps disrespecting you when you are on the phone. Does she not want you to talk on the phone? If she doesn't want you on the phone, there is a more mature way to ask you to politely get off the phone.

It could be one way she wants your attention. Have you had any chance to go bonding together like when you were still a little younger? She could be afraid she's losing you now that you are growing and acting independently. Try finding the reason, may she she just want you beside her like you used to do.

Try to find something quiet to do and stay out of her way ...maybe she is having a bad day.
Ask her if there is something you can do for her maybe it will make her feel better.
Give her a hug
She's the only mom you'll ever have so be nice.
hate is not the opposite of love ...indifference is.

It's about personal space; maybe you have a higher tolerance then your mom; If she's listening to music she likes and you put on music that's overwhelming, it's messing with her personal mojo....Just ask her what the deal is!!! My son goes crazy when I put on my Heavy Metal and it drowns out his classical (only kidding), but you get the point! He'll just ask me what my deal is, I'll tell him and we work it out....be mellow....
