have you even spoken in tongues because of the holy spirit within you? if so, tell of that experience. I would appreciate it if this question were taken seriously and that immature non-believers would keep their rude comments to themselves.

Speaking is tounges is a spiritual gift. It is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit that edifies the person praying.
Everyone who believes in Jesus is inbued with the Holy Spirit. See 1Corithians 12:3. Read the whole of the chapter and chapter 13 as well for more enlightenment on this question.
God bless you as you search for answers.
Some church doctrines say that speaking is tounges is the only evidence that you have the Holy Spirit. I believe this is error according to the scriptures I cited.
Yes, I have spoken in tounges. The experience was wonderful. Once while in prayer alone and speaking aloud, I asked God to stir up this gift within me and I communed with him in tounges instantly. I cannot relay the specifics of the reason why I asked, because that is personal between myself and God. However, I can tell you it is real. I was not caught up in emotion, or music or anything like that. I was alone in my apartment. During and afterward I felt perfectly at peace and purged of every concern. Prayer of this nature is explained by Paul in Romans 8:26-27. Also Romans 8:16 also explains that the Holy Spirit makes us God's own. I also recommend reading this whole chapter.
If you truly desire this gift, of speaking with other tounges, ask for it. He withholds no good thing from his children. Do it while you are alone and unselfconscious and God will speak through you. He said to open our mouths and he will fill them.
God bless you.

I received evidence of the Holy Spirit through a utterance, Not Tongues , Tongues is a Language, I have not Spoken in tongues or other Language, If I did I know God would have a interpreter there. When I pray in the Spirit it is between my spirit & the Holy Spirit. I was raised in a Baptist Church where this was not taught , and in fact was denyed, this made me causious about accepting the evidence as real. the Devil will tell you, " this is you doing that , you are doing it all not the Holy Spirit, once I figured out the truth , I knew I had, had this evidence a long time before I accepted it. It will come only to those who have faith it is true and who are willing to praise the Lord for all he has done for you. This also is the true seal of God, that is the only detourant to the Mark or Stigma of the Beast. No one with this Seal will be decieved. I hope this help you.

I was baptized in the holy spirit when I was 12 or so. Yes, I still have the gift of speaking in tongue now and I am 33. I do it in prayer and to myself because I do not have the gift of interpretation or the gift of prophesy. If you need some places in the Bible to show you how real this gift is - then contact me by email and I will show you. There are a lot of people that don't believe and a lot that think it is another language for people to understand, but it clearly states in the Bible that it is a prayer between you and God, and not foe anyone else to understand except for those with the gifts I spoke of earlier.
It is a great gift from God.

I was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit on the same day, and when I started, by faith, to speak, out came a flood of wonderful tongues! I stopped and gasped, because I had always thought speaking in tongues was phony-baloney, though I had to admit the "phonies" were excellent at what they did! Now I knew it was real. I have spoken in tongues ever since, not everyday, but when I feel the need to pray but don't know exactly what to pray.

Ro 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

I hope this answered your question.

No I have not personally spoke in tongues but when I was present when it happened to someone I understood it perfectly.
My wife has spoken in tongues a few times and people have changed for the better. By that I mean health or situations.

God Bless

I have received the Holy Spirit (when I committed my life to Christ).

I do not believe that receiving the Holy Spirit means that you have to speak in tongues (but am not offended by those who believe that to be the case).

Cordially,
John

I can speak in tongues. it's not too difficult, it's just like talking but you have no idea of the language because God supplies that. But like speaking you move your lips, your tongue. You put a sound but then God supplies the words to the language that comes out.
It will always be unknown to the speaker, but it may be known to one or more hearers.
I can also manifest all the other eight manifestations. Anyone who is born of God can. But not everyone knows this, or how to do it.

I've never spoken in tongues, but my relatives do. Especially when they're in deep prayer for something. I believe it's a very real thing, and powerful too. I've just never experienced it.
