i am not afraid of a thing . I look forward to more immigration from the southern american nations .THEY will work and thats the problem .
MOST americans want to manage and not work themselves because the workers do not earn the profits they generate . MANAGERS make the money and workers do not . THE workers deserve more but do not get it .
AS some one that works construction we constantly have to adjust and make allowences for the problems engineers some times neglect to consider such as changes asked for by consumers when they finally see the building begin to take shape and decide they would enjoy making a few changes .
WE often make the adjustments and continue on while we wait for engineers to adjust and change the blue prints to provide and reflect current and previous changes requested by the owners on site .
ALTHOUGH the changes need approval of the local building department and the changes must be reflected in the prints on file and inspected and approved it is the hard working people on the site that do the building according to standards learned in the field over years of working actually putting it all together .
YOU can draw anythig you want and we can build it but it may not be the most efficent or desirable building .
MEXICANS contribute to what goes up in america and deserve to recieve some more of the fruits of thier labor .
WHEN does a worker earn a residual like other sales people earn for continued renewal of say insurance renewels.IF the housing market or condo market bombs we have lots of work is all . we never get a bounus from the people we build for when the property increases in value 20-35% during the time of construction .
THEY call it un-improved land for a reason and around metropolitian areas un-improved land can be expensive due to speculation in future growth .IF you look at the south with all its corruption , sevices often fail to keep up with demand because planning does not follow a plan rather who own's what and where and how local politicians assist in increasing the values with roads that do not really improve traffic flow or urban sprawl .

Actually, since the 60's or so we have treated minorities very well indeed, and I only hope we are treated as well in the event we become the minority in our country, as we are already the minority in the world.

See, there you were, picking on a minority! Now if we did that, there would be quite a fuss.

However, we may not be a majority in 60 years or so, but who knows what it will be? Chinese? Indian? (From India, I mean.)

60 years is a long time, and a lot of things change in that time.

And no, I think we should screen who comes in, make sure they assimilate to ideas of fair play, and things will fall as they do. Certainly if we will be turning the destiny of our grandchildren over to others, however, you can see why we want to be particular about who we let stay.

Although, actually, that point hadn't occured to me before because I DON'T sit around fretting about things like that.

And it doesn't begin to explain why the blacks, Asians and Hispanics are against illegal immigration, does it?

I like Ruby's answer.

I'm against the reasoning behing hiring undocumented worker's over hard working, law abiding, tax paying Americans. The fact of the matter is that it is a great disservice to BOTH Americans and Immigrants (Legal and ILLEGAL) to hire one over the other based upon the fact that one option can work for a wage that doesn't have to be minimum wage while the legal worker's have to work for at least $5.15/hr (at Federal Level).

If the playing field is made equal, and ALL WORKERS are allowed to compete for jobs making the SAME WAGES; then there wouldn't be a loss of jobs for Americans. It would be a competitive field based on experience, value, trustworthiness, education, etc. That's all I ask for.

It wouldn't hurt if people paid attention to our laws while they were at it. However - as I have noted in past answers - I understand why there is such a drive to come to this great land...even if it is illegally.

first, they are not "undocumented workers" Thats the purpose of an I-9 form. The correct terminology for these people is; Criminal Trespassers for that is what they are guilty of upon setting foot inside America's borders. I am a "minority", I dont complain about the way I am treated by my fellow Americans. If the Criminals want to be treated better they should become law abiding citizens, not remain disrespectful criminals who act arrogant and demand "rights" to which they are not entitled to under American law.
So, to answer your question, I fear nothing or nobody, for I am an American citizen.
Which country do you claim citizenship in? I do not believe that you are truly an American. Your value system isnt American.

First of all,let me fill you in brother, the people you are referring to are ILLEGAL ALIENS, not undocumented workers. My conscience doesn't bother me because i am a minority,a member of a minority who thinks that civilized society should be governed by law and order as opposed to anarchy. As far as being afraid,i don't fear anyone except God. Please take this anti-American propaganda to the barrios of Mexico where someone might listen.Better yet ,go help the Mexican people organize a revolution to oust their corrupt government, then maybe the quality of life for these impoverished people will get better in coming generations.Don't expect the American tax payers to accomplish what the Mexicans are too scared or unwilling to do.

I am not afraid of that, actually. Whites, as of this moment, are not even the majority in the world, hell, India and China both have billions of more people than we do in our country and in Europe, where the white ethnicity is prominent. What I'm afraid of is the fact that the people are STILL ignorant, prejudiced, and racist. Its nothing new, the Europeans started it in the 1500s when they felt they just had to take over the world, but you'd think that after five hundred years, after globalization in the twentieth century, maybe, just maybe everyone would learn to get along? As for this whole "illegal immigration" debate, its nothing new. It happened to the Irish, the Scots, the Chinese, the Japanese, and now the Mexicans. Tell me, who will it be next???

My thoughts are that most 3rd world countries have little respect for the law and that is one of the major reasons that they're corrupt and can not improve themselves.

We can not ignore the laws of this great nation and your choice of using the words undocumented workers instead of criminals shows your lack of respect for this great nation and its laws.

There are more Americans than just 'white' Americans. No one is 'afraid' of illegal immigrants. We are irate at having our way of life destroyed by them. Americans built this country to what it is today. It was "built" BY Americans, FOR Americans (and legal visitors and legal immigrants). We don't want our country becoming a third world country by allowing illegal people to invade our country, usurp our tax paid programs to the point there is nothing left for our own people when they need it, and that is what is happening.

The United States of America is made up of "Americans" of many colors (we are diverse). No illegal bunch of hooligans are ever going to become the 'majority' here. 'White' man may or may not always be the majority, but "AMERICANS" WILL BE!!

I am not afraid of undocumented workers, but I do feel that if they are here illegally, they should be "invited to leave". There are many prople who enter this country legally and have their paperwork in order. They go on to be valuable additions to society, pay their taxes and add to the economy. Illegals, on the other hand, enter the country illegally, live at the margins of society, don't pay taxes and, quite frankly, get exploited.

My ONLY problem with undocumented immigrants is US security. Thats it. If I knew that there was NO way anyof them were here for terrorist reasons I could care less. But since the 9-11, the terrorists screwed the rest of the world. So we have got to get vigilant for our own security.
