a person whom YOU CONSIDERED A friend>>> INTERESTING ENOUGH, YOU REALIZED that this so called friend did not call you.....hummmm..so you decide not to call anymore, UNLESS SHE CALLS YOU!!! guess what? she has not called you in over a year...so I would figure she doesn't want to call me...and move on...wouldn't you??? because friends should call you back and it would be vice a versa!!! now i consider her an aquaintenance....would you???

I would probably call her to say goodbye and thank her for your former friendship. Sometimes that gets a response but if not then you are better than her as you at least had the decency to say goodbye. You evidently still care for her or this has hurt you immensely or you would not still think about it after a year. Don't let her get you down though. Sometimes just being blunt and to the point will get you the answer. Not necessarily the one you wanted though!

This is pretty sad. What you decide should depend on your previous relationship. For example, if she was your maid of honor, you may want to cut some slack, or if she babysat your children for 5 years.

An example I have is children who grow up and get their own familes and lives and don't always call their parents. The parent overlooks this and callls anyway.

Hey, here's what you need to do. Send her a short note and tell her that you still miss her and think of her, but that you were always the caller, and felt she should call sometimes. Wish her well and send your love.

If she never calls, then you have gone beyond the normal to reach out to her. Again, it all depends on your past relationship and how you feel about her.

Good Luck

Of course, you made the right decision. It's hard, but it happens, people drift apart, and maintaining a friendship or any kind of relationship takes two. When it becomes only one person making all the effort, it's time to move on.

Hi,, i just made this same realization a few years back... I was doing all the calling.... family or not..... so..... i decided to wait... after my mom passed away... and see who called me..... You know what... that was 11 years ago now...... No calls.... how about that......

I culled a lot of people that i thought were my friends.....

That's a pretty significant signal. I guess I might call once more if I really wanted to see if the friendship could be salvaged, but I might just move on.

I agree. In a friendship, both people need to make the effort to call each other. She doesn't sound interested, so yes, I say move on.

yes, i would consider them an aquaintance. i have had this happen to me but usually after a while my friend will call me. i would put them on the short list and move on.

shes still more than an aquantenance....
i think shes bumped herself down to "old friend" though.
old friend is how to refer to someone you used to be a "good friend" with- but now you arent- you are just old friends. still friends, but old. old=not that great....its been kinda shady, something made yall stop being great friends....
