What was it like? To where did you fly? Did you have to take anything out of your carry-on bag, like an aerosol can? Were you late to get to your plane? I'm just curious as how everything is going with all the new restrictions. I won't be traveling until the end of October, though.
Thanks!

BTW, has anyone heard if these restrictions are temporary or not? I had read that they might be.

I flew from Atlanta to Orlando and everything went fine. Pretty much the exact same. I just didn't have liquids in my carry on that's the only difference. I doubt this will be temporary, until they have a way to scan liquids.

I tried to but was refused from my international flight (not for being a terrorist but because of a misunderstanding about visa requirements in the country I was going to)--all this to say that I got to SFO airport about 3 hours ahead of departure time and things were VERY quiet and peaceful. If you allow yourself the two hours it should be no problems. And contrary to some claims, unless you are flying to or from the UK or on a UK airline you are allowed your carry on bags except for the liquids gels and creams. Don't bring sprays either. You can still have laptops and other electronic devices.

My friend's daughter recently flew to Halton, NY. My friend called her daughter and asked about her experience of flying during this tumultous time. She did remove all toothpaste, shampoos, mouthwashes, etc. from her bags. She flew from Fort Lauderdale International Airport and remarked that things flowed well.

I didn't fly, but friends of mine did. To Europe, and from Europe. One said that the airport was totally empty (she was flying the day of the exposing of the plot).
