No one knows.

The bible as we know it was invented in 325 CE by a council authorized and supervised by Roman Emperor Constantine. The council also invented what we call "Christianity."

The Bible was written by church leaders of the eastern Meditranian under the direction of Emperor Constantine in 325 A.C.E.. That's three hundred twenty-five years after Jesus. When the emperor says "write" they wrote. Constantine personally paid for fifty copies to be used throughout the empire. Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire.

Many people wrote the bible. Even within some individual books, it is evident that multiple people wrote the same book, but with slight variations, thus inconsistencies appear in the bible. Of course, the Gospels are named for their authors and most of the New Testament is written by Paul.

God communicated with individuals (termed prophets). Such individuals wrote down or compiled information that God provided, and information dealing with the people's response to God... These writings comprise the Bible.

The Bible consists of 66 books, written by 40 different authors (humanly speaking) who were inspired by God, over a period of about 1600 years or so.

Cordially,
John

Contrary to popular belief it was not written by the apostles, they had relayed their stories at first orally. They were written down by other people later around 3 or 4 C.E. (current era). The last book of "Revelations" was written in about the fifth century. So it wasn't written by John the Baptist (how could he when he lost his head in the OT) or St. John (since he wouldv'e been already dead) It was written by a man named John.

Loads of people over the centuries. It wasn't started until about 100 AD and it wasn't finished till 400 AD, although many books of the Bible were removed, anyway.

Christians will tell you God wrote it, or that people inspired by God wrote it.

Good question and a couple of benighted answers.
The Bible was penned by many different men as they were inspired by God. It was God breathed
