I don't know what you are looking to do with it, but for range use, plinking, and self defense it is quite adequate. The G19 holds 15 rounds flush in the magazine and one in the chamber, totalling 16 rounds of 9mm. Also, GLOCK is probably the gun with the absolute most accessories and upgrades available. You can think of the GLOCK as the AR15 of pistols...the modularity is astounding.

adequate enough for hitting targets at close range, perfect. If you are going with a 9mm, a glock 9 would be the best choice.

My brother-in-law owns a big Glock and a small one...but I don't like them. In the 9mm Luger or Parabellum line, I use a Beretta "92F" and a CZ-75. I find that they have many advantages over Glocks. I also have a .45ACP Heckler & Koch "P9S" that shoots harder than other .45's. If I'm worried about power, I carry my .500 Magnum Linebaugh "Bisley". I'm seeking a .73 Alex Henry howdah pistol.

adequate for what? the important issue that should be considered is what the purpose of the gun is. the glock as a handgun is extremely multipurposed in its small size, reliability, and stability, but is not designed to stop something or someone in it's tracks. thus is makes for a good undercover gun or as a shooting range gun, but would not be the best gun to use as a quick antipersonell gun nor as a hunting gun which would be the same as just about any other 9mm gun. thus the accuracy of your shot would be the largest factor in the case it was to be used against a person.

That's like a pellet gun on roids. You need to look to Smith & Wessons 460XVR. A solid all around handgun. I have the Lew Horton performance center model, shoot corbons @ 390gr.

If you want to destroy a tank, no. What do want to use it for? It will kill someone just as dead as any other pistol or firearm. What's your definition of adequate?
