Well, its a good riddle and the answer is he is the jail-bird's father. But as a public service I would just like to mention that flippant riddlry does not get you very far with law enforcement officers, and I would not recommend taking this tack with them. A more proper answer would have been, " I am his father, sir." or "He is my son, sir."
