Does AudioVox GMRS two way radios, slim line design come in more then seven miles? I need 18 mile...

This is what I already know ...

Audiovox offers the slimmest line of GMRS two way radios on the market today. Our slim line design handheld radios offer an "ultra compact" feel as well as featuring an FM radio, high intensity LED flashlight, ear mic, carrying case and comes in single or dual packs.

Thanks...

Be advise that these radios, regardless of how many miles it says it can go up to, NEVER live up to it's advertised promise. Even when used on the high power channels, which requires an FCC license before operating, is good for no more than a few city blocks in the city. In open terrain, it may get the maximum distance.

Never believe those marketing claims! The average range of one of those radios is about 3/4 of a mile. With some you may eek out another mile i\or two; but NOTHING on the market will get you 18 miles, or even 7 miles.

Go to the website below and get all the info you need.

Bear in mind, you require a license to use GMRS radios.

For reliable 18 mile range you will need a mobile radio. A mobile is one that mounts in a car. For any radio that can operater over this range, you will need a license.

Another alternative is to get a hand-held or mobile radio on a repeater system. There are businesses that offer this service to the public. You operate under their license so don't have to get one of your own.
