May be you should wear one all the time when you are wake that way you wouldnt forget. I think that is it a big mistake because the bible says we should do something then we should try very hard to make sure we do.

God bless

No, it's not a big mistake. There are many different views on this subject, but the mainstream theological thought would be that Paul was writing to a particular culture, and it is not a rule that must be legalistically followed. The main idea behind the practice and teaching of wearing a head covering has to do with an inner attitude of respect and reverence for the One we worship. The head covering is merely an outward way of showing that. If you are more comfortable wearing one, and you don't want to be caught unprepared, then just make a habit of carrying a small scarf or similar thing in your handbag so that you won't have to remember.

I don't think that applies to now adays. That was under the old testament where women also shouldn't cut their hair or wear pants and should keep silent in church. While the Bible does cover the big issues and they still apply to todays world, I don't think this matter does. So, what I'm trying to say is not to feel bad because I honestly don't think God will care if your head is covered or not, but if you really prefer to have it covered keep a scarf in your purse so you'll have it with you at all times.

Paul also addressed the believer's freedom in 1 Corinthians 10:23.

"Everything is permissible"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is constructive.

We know that we are forgiven when we sin. If you personally feel conviction to cover your head when praying, and you fail to do it under ordinary circumstances, then it is sin for you, but you will be forgiven if you only ask.

I'm not a great one to answer this question though. Check out this yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/headcovering/
They have a lot of information and very thoughtful, prayerful Christian women there who do cover their heads. They can give you better answers than I can.

no its not that big a deal nemore... when my mom was growing up in the philippines, they had to wear a veil during mass... but this is no longer the case... so if the philippines, a high catholic dense country, does not require it, then i don't see why it would be inappropriate for ppl of other countries to do so as well...

however, i do see a family that does always were a veil to the church i attend back at university of illinois at urbana-champaign... so i guess its up to you! :-D

I know what your talking about but doesn't it say that a woman's hair is her covering? I don't think that not covering your hair is a mistake. God has promised to listen to us when we pray. I try not to get caught up in things like that because then they become rituals and I believe in a relationship with God, not religion

Maybe back then it was a large issue, however now I don't think God minds... I actually think he's thankful to hear you praying unlike so many others....Keep up the good work :)

I think that Paul was referring to the culture he was writing to in the 1st century AD.

I don't believe you have to do this..........but if it makes you feel better to do so well then do it. I think you should pray about it and let God lead you about this. Do some bible study on it too.
