If he is causing an extreme reaction... like not being able to breathe...take him back immediately!!!
If he is not causing an extreme reaction, but just itchy eyes and sniffle type reaction...talk to the doc about allergy shots, yes... in the mean time keep your face away from the cat and wash your hands immediately after petting. Vacuum carpets and furniture daily and do not let your pet in your room. Also have Benedryl liquid (because it goes to work immediately) handy for when you forget(and you will). Eventually you will build up an immunity and won't have to worry about it anymore.

i'm form of interior a similar project with my boyfriend. He has a cat and that i'm very allergic. We plan to get married once I end college and there has been communicate of the cat. he's incredibly related and that i do no longer could make him supply up his cat. we've desperate to furnish it a attempt, by utilising doing each and every thing we are in a position to to maintain my allergic reactions under administration. He has been so stable approximately studying and finding AC vents, vacuum filters, wipes for the cats to shrink dander, or perhaps potty coaching the cat on the lavatory so there is as little cat dander and products around the domicile. I take claritin for my allergic reactions and that i even have an inhaler for emergencies. Your boyfriend could evaluate seeing an allergist and seem over his concepts. i'd reassure him which you will do all you are able to to help shop his allergic reactions under administration as long as he will supply it a attempt. If he isn't in a position to stay with the cat via fact he's often ill...then you definately will could come to a style that's greater considerable to you. My boyfriend is incredibly committed to me and needs to make it artwork, yet realizes there is an possibility the cat will could flow if i'm ill each and on a daily basis. Having an allergic reaction to some thing compromizes one wellness by utilising reducing the immune device. it is not basically some sneezing and itchy eyes like people would think of. stable success!! i wish it works out :)

Are you sure it's the cat?
My sphynx has never caused any reactions to friends who are hyper-sensitive, and all the reading I've done leads me to believe that the oils that collect due to the lack of fur contain the dander which reduces their likelihood to aggravate allergies.

Short of suggesting more freqauent bathing, perhaps a talk with an allergist might help.

Talk to your doctor about allergy medications. At the least, they might help you relieve some symptoms without having to give up your pet.

Also, talk to your vet and/or breeder to see if they have some suggestions.
