If it has been more then 5 years you can have it exponged from your record as long as you have been not convicted of anything else since.

first off: No such thing as being sealed/expunged when it comes to the military. they will still have access to the report and all findings. If it is still an open case, then no, you would not be able to even talk to a recruiter until the case has been closed/adjucated and all punishments(including probation) over and done with.

If the assualt charge was for domestic violence or involved a weapon, you are permanently Disqualified from serving.

The Army MIGHT ( and i stress MIGHT) be willing to work with you on getting a waiver if you have kept your nose clean since then and are otherwise qualified. You may have to look into the Guard or Reserves first, as they can be more lenient with such matters.

I'm no lawyer, but the felony is on your juvenile record and it's 6 years ago. You should be able to get it expunged or sealed if you've kept your nose clean since then. If that happens, from a legal standpoint it'll be like it never happened. The recruiter is no doubt familiar with these situations. Be up front about it and ask him--he'll probably know what to do. Above all, don't perjure yourself. If you're lying about something like that, it WILL come out and you'll be completely screwed.

The odds are yes, although some rules have been changed recently (example felons can no longer be given choice between doing time and going in the military) with the charge happening when your minor I doubt they would look back very far. Be honest with your recruiter, and you can probably get a letter of recommendation from local law enforcement or the judge who handled the case.

odds are yes. It all depends on the situation etc... Were you just charged, or were you convicted?? Did you plea down, or charged as an adult with what sentence. I know of a kid who was given a choice to go military or jail, so I'm sure if you try hard enough and you have the rest of your life in order, the recruiter can help you. At 13 you were a minor anyway, typically the military looks at your adult life. good luck

Talk to a recruiter. They would have the answers you are looking for. You would not be the first to have a slightly tainted teenage record to have joined the service. Some of most conservative people I have ever met started their lives out on a shaky legal platform. They had gone on to have brilliant honorable careers in the Military and achieved very high rank.

Go to the recruiting center and talk to recruiters they can give you a world of information. Don't sign anything until you have had time to think over what you really want to do, but they are nice men and women and they really want people who want to be in the military.

Depends on how old you are now. If your over 18 military will only check that far back. If you're 17 ask a judge or someone of authority to write letters of recommendations and they might ignore it.

Talk with a recruiter. That's the only way you're going to find out.

they will find a way to get you into the military. Talk to a recruiter and they will take it from there.
