I'm assuming you've got a HS diploma or GED and don't have any other disqualifying factors (certain crimes, physical limitations, etc) and you're in the 17-21 age bracket. Unless you're built like Mr. Universe and you have a really low percentage body fat, you need to lose weight and get down below 223. If you're naturally large (heavy frame), you can be overweight, but you have to exceed PT standards and you need to be below 24% body fat.

At a minimum, you need to get to 22 push-ups and 37 situps in 2 minutes, and your 2 mile run must be 15:54 or faster. THIS IS EASY! Talk to a recruiter. He'll have a fitness plan for you, and I promise it will work. If you really put your mind to it, you could be ready in 3-4 months.

Can you run 7 miles a day? I would talk to a recruiter to see what the weight limits are.

The military used to look at your height and weight but now they use something called BMI (body mass index) if your muscle outweighs your fat you should be goood. Also, if they think you need to lose some pounds...bootcamp will work just fine!

I can see the youngsters here really appreciate the Army. Someday they'll be begging for their help, unfortunately they'll get it.
