I have heard that people spank their dogs as punishment, which I think is awful, but how on earth do you do that?

One time i lived in this house and this mans dog got out..right i am thinking aww he is a big lap dog the dog was sweet it wasnt a threat..big black lab healthy..so the man came found out his dog was out, grabbed by the collar, and hit it as we stood there and watched..i dont think i liked that much..
My grandpa would use a newspaper, and scare them, he also flicked there noses...

Just give your dog a light tap on the nose and in a stern voice tell them no.Do not hit them to hard or you can cause injury a light tap can be sufficant and very effective.you are correct on how mean people can be to they're animals.All they want to be is loyal.I love my dog she is a blue pittbull and she is my 3 year old sons best friend.It is all in the training.Your mean to your dog and eventually they will jump back.

I've seen someone roll up their news paper and smack the dog hard that the dog yapped.

I'm sure they swat them on the rear with a newspaper or their hand. I'm with you....it IS awful and doesn't teach anything but fear.

You CANNOT "reason" w/ANY dog!!
Sometimes a slap is NECESSARY!!!and a whole lot easier on everybody than NAGGING for a week or month or YEARS!!!

i actually seen owners use sticks... n stuff.. it's really upsetting...n i totally disagree...people like that dont deserve to even have dogs... i've even seen someone drag their dog by their neck.... n i got really angry... it's upsetting to see them being treated like that!!!
