I hate using Miracle Whip in anything. I like to use Best Foods Mayonaise in all my salads and dressings. What do you like to use? Which is better and why? What is your favorite Recipe using them?

It is interesting to see that you combine the mayo and MW together. I wouldnt do that but mayby someday I will try. I just can't get past the gagging when it comes to MW. It is an aquired taste for MW. Me, nah uh. No way... I will make it for people and will make it good but I won't be eating it. If I even taste it in anything I'll spit it out. MW just doesn't agree with my taste buds. But that is just me.
My special potato salad is made with red potatos (when I boil them I place in the water chicken soup base), boiled eggs, celery, onions, minced green peppers, chopped smoked ham, minced fresh jalepeno, black olives, chopped parsley flakes, cracked pepper, a squirt of mustard, Lawry's Seasoning salt, a little garlic seasoning, and of course Best Foods Mayonaise or Kraft Mayonaise.
My husband used the same ingredients but put sourcream and shredded colby jack cheese in his potato salad.

I am a Best Foods mayo girl myself. That is the ONLY thing I will use.. For everything, potato salad, mac salad, egg salad.... I always get compliments on my salads and they want to know the secret ingredient....I wish people knew how much of a difference Best Foods makes(Hellmans if you are in the South, different name, same product) Another yummy thing I tried is to use mayo instead of butter to spread when grilling a grilled cheese sandwich, it is awesome!

I love using mayo for making potato salad or macaroni salad. I don't like using Miracle Whip for making potato salad or macaroni salad. I like using mayo because has a basic flavor. You can add other things to it and it will hold up to the flavors that you add to the salad. With Miracle Whip, it already has that tangy flavor, so if you don't want that tangy flavor to your salad, which I don't, there's nothing you can do except use mayo.
My favorite recipe using mayo is a roasted potato salad. Cut up some red potatoes into quarters and throw them in a bowl. Drizzle some olive oil on the potatoes and season them with salt and pepper, and a little bit of rosemary and thyme if you want. Pop them in a 400 degree oven for about 50 minutes to an hour or until they're done. Take them out and let cool.
Meanwhile, mix together some mayo, sour cream, buttermilk minced celery, minced red onion, minced garlic and cooked crumbled bacon in a bowl. Add the cooled potatoes and mix until thoroughly combined. Season to taste with additional salt and pepper.
For Miracle Whip, just use it on your favorite sandwich. I like Miracle Whip on turkey and havarti cheese sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, Dijon mustard, grilled onions and crispy bacon slices. Miracle Whip on one side of the toasted buttermilk bread, Dijon on the other, stack everything else up, cut in half and eat. Beautiful. Happy cooking!

I love Miracle Whip Light...it's perfectly tangy! This is a great recipe for Macaroni / Pasta Salad. I change it a little though...I ALWAYS make a double batch, and I use 1/4 cup finely diced red pepper and 3/4 cup - 1 cup diced seedless cucumber. I think it tastes better that way, the salad doesn't pick up as strong of a pepper flavor. I hope you try it...enjoy!!
Pasta Side Salad Made Over
1 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked
1/2 cup MIRACLE WHIP Light Dressing
1/4 cup KRAFT LIGHT DONE RIGHT! Zesty Italian Reduced Fat Dressing
1 cup KRAFT Natural 2% Milk Reduced Fat Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese Crumbles
3/4 cup matchstick-cut carrots (julienne)
1/2 cup frozen peas
1/2 cup chopped red pepper (1/2 of a medium red pepper)
COOK macaroni as directed on package; drain. Rinse with cold water; drain again.
MIX dressings in large bowl. Add cheese, carrots, peas, peppers and macaroni; mix lightly. Cover.
REFRIGERATE at least 30 min. or up to 24 hours before serving.

Great question. Kinda depends on personal taste, but I have found that Miracle Whip makes the difference between good and great potato salad (add some sour cream; mmmm), but my kids HATE it. Mayo makes it bland, and that's what many people like. As for macaroni salad, I say Miracle whip all the way.

Miracle Whip has less fat, cholesterol, and calories, I believe. I add a bit of mustard and (balsamic) vinegar. For either pasta or potato salad, I need onion, celery, and a pinch of thyme. I usually cut up tomato in it just before serving, but everything else marinates overnight in the refrigerator.

Hellmann's Mayonnaise because it is all natural ingredients which means it is good for you and it helps reduce your cholesterol. Even the Hellmann's 1/2 the Fat Dressing is good plus they also have a line of flavoured mayonnaise products which are better than Miracle Whip and most other mayonnaise products.

Kraft mayo is the only way to go - Miracle Whip is just nasty. I use it in tons of dishes - potato salad, coleslaw, egg salad, tuna salad, mashed taters & of course on any sandwich you like - Love it!
