I want a cheap and homely house, not one that looks like everyone else's. Haven't checked is councils will pass them now.

My dad, who's an Aussie, built one when he was a kid. He told me that you'd better make sure it's not raining for three weeks before you do it. It needs time to dry, etc.

There are lots of mud brick homes in Coober Pedy. The town is mostly underground because it is so hot there. The opal mining is also big business, so they like to be close to that. You could definitley build such a home there. It is located between Alice Springs and Adelaide, in the outback.
