Unfortunately, I'm at work at the moment and can't test this. But I know there is a hot key, weather it be alt |Print Screen| or control... That will take a screen shot of anything that's on the screen, however, you have to then paste this image into Paint, Photoshop, etc. and then save it.
As for programs, hopefully you'll get another answer, but this may temporarily fix your problem.
Hope this helps!

use firefox and install Addon "flashgot" this can download all images or movies from a page of thumbnails or any image, or movie on a page. If you really only want a screen snapshot, go to downloads.com and search for snapshot or screenshot and use the filter " license - free"

properly the phote modifying application I surely have is Photoshop CS4, yet i assume that may not artwork the two way for you because you're saying it relatively is too no longer person-friendly and it relatively is particularly darn costly (besides the undeniable fact that it relatively is taken into consideration one of my maximum precious products, lol). Uh, like some pronounced till now me, there is often Gimp. I used to apply that application an prolonged time in the past and it became consistently unfastened. it isn't the suitable image modifying application, besides the undeniable fact that it is extremely stable and functional and that's unfastened, you basically could flow to the area. i do no longer comprehend the different image modifying classes although. I mean i comprehend Photobucket has that little characteristic now, yet i do no longer comprehend if that's what you're finding for. stable success!

You can use the Print Screen + Paint method, but you can also download the demo for a program called SnagIt. There is a handy image editor I use called Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/
that it's really easy to paste onto, crop the image, and then save in almost any image format...

you can always use the effective button on your keyboard which should be at the right of your "F12" button... just press it where you want to take the snapshot... and paste it in any image editor.
