Actually, according to Covert Bailey ("Fit or Fat") soon after you take caffiene, fat cells are released into the blood stream. They are soon deposited back into fatty tissue. However, if you do vigorous excercise after having caffeine, the body will tend to use the fat in the blood stream for the energy it needs rather than stored carbohydrates which are usually used first. Thus, exercising after taking caffeine can help use up body fat. Marathon runners know this, and often take caffeine before a run to delay the using up of the body's stored carbohydrates.

Caffeine doesn't help you burn fat, it makes you fat. Caffeine damages your organs such as the kidneys, stomach, gall bladder and liver. It also wears away bone mass which can lead to many things including bone cancer. Stay away from it! Drink lots of water and skim milk.

The caffeine does not help to burn fat but will make you fat. Caffeine promote calcium excretion from the body and results in calcium loss from the bones.
