Tommy boy!
Your arguments are growing weaker! Let me explain, you said "or do you believe in what can be proven by facts and evidence and so allowing your opinion to change as more new facts are discovered.", which means your facts were inaccurate thereby negating the possibility of them being facts. Did you actually learn this stuff from somewhere? If so, you need a new school! You are the only one that sounds ridiculous by using your "facts" to disprove the existence of God, which you still have not done by the way. I'll help you out some, the problem is you are so blinded by your "facts", which I'll remind you I debunked one of, you have overlooked the fact that the existence of God can not be debunked. It is impossible to do. Nobody can prove God exists either. You will only know beyond a doubt when you die. After death, if nothing, then Tommy was right. But, if Tommy is wrong, you are in for an unpleasant eternity.
I am convinced now, however, that you are a simple teenager trying to feel better about himself by bringing those that believe differently down with you. It is the only rational explanation for your statements. If you truly believed in the "science" you have displayed, you would defend it without insults like telling people they are ridiculous for their faith. See, you need faith that scientists are correct, which YOU stated that they are not (see quote above). Check your zipper Tommy, your ignorance is showing!

Your definitions are wrong.
Faith is NOT belief in something regardless of fact. Faith is the firm conviction that something is true based on trust in the source. In some cases, faith can be erroneous. In others, it can be right. A scientist can have faith that radiometric dating is reliable, even though it is not.
The trouble with defining FACT is that nobody likes the definition. It's too limiting. Facts are truths based on empirical data. What causes so much trouble is that modern science is based more on faith than on fact. We all have faith that global warming is causing sea levels to rise and is caused by human populations poluting the environment. There is no empirical data supporting this belief.
Faith and fact can and do coexist nicely, especially when we stop calling opinions and assumptions fact.

Faith. Facts are too quickly disproven and taken away, but nobody can take my faith away from me.
Though, facts and faith can coexist. Perhaps most people aren't looking for the right facts?
But define faith for me--what is wrong with believing that impossible or miraculous things can happen? I have this friend that when I'm with him, it seems as though anything is possible. He's shown me that it really is.
I find it interesting that scientists can't agree but all Christians can agree on one thing and that is Jesus Christ was the son of God and he died for ours sins on the cross and rose the third day. It doesn't matter what religion you belong to-you could be Lutheran, Catholic, Mormon, anything.
And even non-Christian religions believe in and All Powerful Being. As long as history has been written the peoples have believed in omnipotent beings/being. Whose to say they're wrong?
Nobody. Just as nobody is to say you're wrong for siding with facts and science. Just as long as you understand that if those figures ever fail you, that there is someone waiting to catch you if ever you should fall. If you remember that, nothing can beat you down.

I believe in facts about faith.
There are a lot of faiths in the world that cannot prove their facts.
They still go around trying to overpower others.
I am on the side of facts in faith. I would like to know if Jesus Christ wrote the bible or is it the work of someone else and Jesus is just being used there because he came and was killed while he was still very young.
I would like to know if Islam has the right to kill so many people in the world. Can they give me facts about their religion and why they have destroyed our country and stolen our land?
I do not know much about Judaism as I refuse to give myself unnecessary pain by learning about other people's religions.

I would take my ‘Faith’ over your so-called ‘Facts’, any day my friend: as would many others!!
Both ‘Science’ & ‘God’ have their place on earth there is no doubt… but there is of course: no comparison between the two!!
Science is a wonderful thing: & can prove many things… disprove others… and inevitably not answer every question… and as science is man; it is also fallible!!
If I am honest… I don’t care if it took 144 hours to create the world: or 6000 years: Creation/Evolution, whatever… there are more things in this life to worry about than those things!!
But personally: I would rather keep my faith & belief in God, who has proved himself time & time again in my life: and the lives of 100,000,000’s like me…& never let me down: than put my faith in mere man!!
At least with my Faith in God I have a Hope… there is no hope with man or science for this worlds problems!!
Jesus Loves You Tom xoxo

both. unless you are changing the definition of faith and fact for the sake of argument, they can both co-exist.
faith is the confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
fact is knowledge or information based on real occurrences.
for example, i can have faith that smoking causes cancer. the facts currently show that smoking causes cancer. thus, i can be on the side of faith and side of fact.
also, please do not confuse science with truth. science is a process which attempts to find the truth by eliminating false theories or modifying existing theories through repeated experimentation.

Faith is stronger than Fact. Fact can be disproved, obviously it is so. But Faith remains till u believe. Faith ultimately helps when everything fails. Last but not the least Faith is something to be experienced not said.... so try!!!

Funny thing is that fact often times backs up faith. Too much evidence is disproven because those who demand clear and precise fact cannot accept the reality of not all things are ment to be understood or comprehended by mankind

I'm on faith side, coz even to prove anything or the fact comes by someone or something with faith, by faith, through faith. e.g you already have plans for tomorrow or the next week approaching not knowing what tomorrow holds for you. It is by faith that you did that coz we are not promised tomorrow. No body knows what the future holds, but thru faith and by faith we plan, wish, hope that all will be as we wish, hope, plan. That is all faith.

This is a case of an either/or mentality. I myself have faith that things will always work out because I have seen things work out for people if they have faith that it will. I think this qualifies as both faith and fact: seeing the results of faith.
