Rains start in the most part of India by Mid June and lasts for almost 4 months. August and September are months of heavy rains and floods. As of today the coastal city Surat in Gujarat state is under +10 feet of water for past week or so. The water retaining dams are overflowing and the approach to city by road is totally cut off from remaining parts of the state .
