Okay Please serious answers? My boyfriend is hairy(not nasty), but hairy. He's almost 100% Irish, but he's also Scottish and English? Where does the body hair come from? Just curious! lol

Irish ppl are not hairy... but the Scotts are!
I know where hair grows from but certain races... (Italians) are harier than others!

Body hair is simply a natural self defense mechanism our body has developed which has stayed with us since the ice ages. So is the ability to store fat in our bodies. Fat and hairy people can thank their ancestors who lived in the ice ages because they were the ones who survived the cold weather and lived longer lives.

Hair grows from a pouch like follicle below the skin. The hair that grows is called a shaft and it is DEAD HARDENED KERATINIZED cells that grow from this pouch. It is oiled by the sebaciuos glands that secrete "oil" or "sebum". And some people secrete too much and then they have what we call oily hair.
