Because it weakens your will, causes you to be ignorant, and is very unhealthy for you physically.
Oh wait! I thought this was about religion. I don't know, pot seems pretty benign to me.
(It's funny the guy below me mentions the history channel...THC.)

Most drugs in this country became illegal at about the same time that Senators wives were getting hooked. The History Channel ran a special on it. Wether or not THC is good history i don't know, but that was basically their answer.

Because Hemp can be used for so much things like rope and what not that back in the day would have put alot of places out of buisness and to protect the buisnesses the government out lawed the whole plant.

It would be hard for the government to tax. You could make it in your home, and say it was registered, etc. They can't get in on the money, it stays illegal.

cuz people suck!!!!! mostly its illegal because of richard nixon (president) he hired top notch people to test it and they found that it wasnt that bad- but nixon didnt want to hear it so he made it officially illegal- IM ROLLING A SPLIFF NOW!!!!
