Exd 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Maybe one day they'll grow out of some of their other bad habits?

The people over here reckon this story about poisoner being mistranslated as witch is a greater load of poppycock than the good book itself. So, please state your source or withdraw the claim. You see, it creates an even greater difficulty for you than the witch problem: you are saying parts of the bible were written by man and not god.

Because the other half of the Bible you didn't read says the Mosaic law passed away.

That verse is a mistranslation from the original Hebrew. The original verse read "Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live". In other words it's an injunction against murder, not witchcraft. Pick up a copy of the Jewish Torah and take a peak.

Perhaps it is because the section of the Bible you are referring to isn't seen as law anymore? Perhaps it is because that no one in the US has the right to force their religious belief on others(which would include killing them/forcing them to conform to Christianity).
Speaking as a Wiccan, personally I'd hope the majority of fundamentalist will grow out of their need to persecute others for their beliefs.

Christians are not to kill witches but to love all. we are to stay away from that stuff. God loves all of his creation regardless of religion, race, creed, color or whatever. John 8 ends the Mosaic law of stoning. Woman taken adultery.

Because they were never supposed to in the first place. The passage originally said "Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live," e.g. malpractice doctor, but King James changed it to justify getting rid of his political opponents and a legitimate translation has since replaced his political propaganda.

Generally, the law stopped allowing the slaughtering of witches once communication improved to the point that normal everyday people could be resonably educated.

There is a lot of hate in this world, and a lot of people use God and Religion as a means to hate and feel justified in doing so. - Doug W

I think you've got christians confused with quakers and puritans. There are zealots in every religion, apparently you are a fanatic for whatever your religion is.
