An assisted living facility is a seniors residence where people live in their own apartments and eat their meals in a common dining room.
Nursing homes are for sick people, usually old, who are unable to care for themselves. Many are bedridden, others have Alzheimers and othe terminal illnesses that don't require hospitalization.
