Their predictions are so general they always come true in one way or another.

Speaking as someone who could, at one time, see into the future; it is not humanly possible. My own abilities were demonic in origin, the result of Spiritualist healing when I was 7 years old. I no longer had these abilities after I was exorcised in 1978.

Demons, being spiritual beings, can see a little way into the future, they can also manipulate people into bringing about a predicted outcome. God, however, knows the whole story and can reveal it through those He has given the gift of Prophecy. However, knowledge of the future is not always helpful. Certainly, if I had known the path God has led me down, wonderful as it has been, I would have been too nervous to step out the front door each day.

Things shift in the universe the way they have always shifted. Whether or not it was entirely coincidence or extreme cleverness I doubt anyone will know, but I am guessing that perhaps some fortune tellers are, indeed, clever beyond their years. People can do anything, if only they try, and honestly, fortune tellers try the most of a large number of humans. If one tries to hire a watcher or a spy, they could if they tried, and perhaps then the spy could tell them certain sources of information that they will then use to con the blind people. But who knows? Perhaps these fortune tellers truly do have the ability to See, for, after all, many of us do tend to See things in our dreams and in our ongoing days. Truthfully, no one shall ever really know because even if the truth did come out, and the teller told the story of his/her success to particular people, who is to say these people will believe the teller? And sometimes the teller doesn't even know, and is merely tricking his/her self into forgery of such tales. Such things do happen.

I don't know about fortune tellers, I mean, I stay away from them because I think that kind of stuff is wrong in general, but I don't know if they're like a ouija board where the person operating the board or talking to the psychic just totally uses their mind to get the answers they want (without even realizing it) or if they really are in cahoots with something evil. It's not humanly possible.

personally i don't believe in fortune telling and i say this as a psychic/medium
two things can happen here , they generalise and guess and usually they are right as they can see a rough guide of where you are going with your life dependant on what is going on around you at the moment

the second thing is more worrying ... take the example of the wife who goes to ask about her marriage .. will it work out well ?
the fortune teller says .. oh i see trouble .. another woman perhaps .. i see divorce etc
can you tell me if you honestly believe this woman will go home and be happy with her husband forever ? so the fortune teller would be right ! but had she not said what she said .. would it ever have happened that way ?
this is called a self fulfilling prediction .. we make it happen because we believe it to be so
the future is not set and i for one as a responsible and ethical person would never tell anyone what i believe their future is going to be

I can't answer that, sorry, as I've never met a genuine one.
I can tell you however, how someone can commit fraud by pretending to be one, this is from personal experience.
I worked beside this guy who always showed an interest in everyone at work. 'Have you always lived there?' 'Are your parents still alive?' 'What was your fathers job?' 'Do you have brothers and sisters?' and so on........ He would then take himself off to the Registrar Of Births, Deaths, & Marriages and look up other details. Then, at his meetings, would stand up and say things like, 'I'm in a room, and I'm surrounded by books, does this mean anything to anybody here?' Someone would put their hand up and say, 'Yes, that's me'. He would then tell that person that their wife was coming thru to tell her husband that she was at peace now, and not to worry anymore. Amazement, what did this mean? Turns out he had discovered thru his research that the man's wife was a librarian.
Another one was, 'I see a ship, but it's not at sea' Woman in the audience put her hand up. 'Although, he died quickly, he didn't suffer any pain', he told her. Again, he researched, that after speaking to the woman's friend days before, who told him that her friend's husband died in his thirties, he looked it up and discovered from the death certificate that the man had worked on the tug boats on the Thames. Not very nice eh? Playing on vulnerable peoples emotions.

There are 101 reasons behind all this…

The generalisation… the questions asked… probability… etc, etc, etc…

But from a Christian stand point, or as some would say: a religious one…

satan is the master of all lies & deceit: & he will put whatever he can in the way of an individual, to turn their eyes away from God, & onto something else!!

I've never found a fortune teller who could prdict any specific thing with any accuracy. Same with spiritualists.

I have studied the bible for 25 years and I can tell you for a fact that a human cannot have these powers unless they were given to them by a powerful source, this come from Satan and his demons or followers. They give them the information, The Bible says to stay away from these people.

A combination of psychic powers, good psychology and the fact that some events in our lives are fairly predictable.

Because of the collective conscious.
We all know what will happen, but most of us don't think that's possible and therefore can't hear it. That's why we have fortune tellers, to translate. :-)
