Because He made a covenent with us long ago. That was that once a year people would make a blood sacrifice of their best lambs to cover their sins for the coming year. God seen that this would never do because they couldnt have a personal relationship with them because they still carried the sin with them and He cannot be where sin is. So he sent His son to be the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus offered to go. He loves us so he wanted to. He'd rather die than live with out us. After Jesus died on the cross he took our sins from us. Now we can be saved from them if we ask for forgiveness. And there is a new covenent. We no longer have to give blood sacrifices to God, because Jesus took care of that for all eternity when he came down from heaven and lived a perfect life without sin, then gave his life for us.

While God is omnipotent, that had nothing to do with Jesus dying on the cross. In the Old Testament, people made sacrifices to pay for their sins. The Bible says (I forget where) that Jesus came to take away the sins of the world - he had to die to be the sacrifice for all our sins forever afterwards. He rose again because the son of God cannot truly die - and to show those who follow him that there will be life after death.

God is omnipotent and all loving but he's also just. He couldn't just dismiss the sin of everyone like it didn't matter without losing justice in the process an element of who He is. The idea is that of a subsitutionary sacrifice in the same way as the animals in the Mosaic covenant. What made it differant was that the sacrifice was willing, and that it was God himself.

Jesus dieing on the circulate for our sins isn't asserting that God isn't all-powerful, it somewhat is basically how God chosen to make a fashion for the human race to have the potential for attending to heaven. There had to be a sacrifice for our sins climate we died and went to hell without way of being waiting to get to heaven or Jesus, the single individual in human flesh that replaced into somewhat proper, die on the circulate and make a fashion. Jesus replaced into that sacrifice that replaced into mandatory to pay the sin we commit. Forgiveness by myself does no longer shrink it. that's why human beings had to sacrifice animals back earlier Jesus died for our sins.

For someone who asks, and answers a lot of questions with regard to Christianity: Jesus: Religion & the like… you seam to know very little about the subjects you so love to bring up… especially the history!! As has been said… gain some knowledge before you speak… it would make you look less of an immature condescending Ignoramus!!!

For one who Keeps asking for ‘PROOF’, ‘PROOF’, ‘PROOF’… if it hit you in the mouth with a brick hammer… you would still argue against it!!

As it was 2006 years ago!!! So… really what’s the point? Apart from giving us a little fun?

Jesus… Still Loves You!!!!!

this is the reason i stopped being a catholic and converted to islam. none of this trinity rubbish and son of God, dont they realise it was inserted by st paul to recruit more followers, he also removed circumcision and not eating pork from the laws God gave us, to give people an incentive to christianity. jews and muslims still do the above since the time of Abraham. Its in the bible God ordered Abraham and all males after him to get circumcised. All the prophets in history are portrayed as more accepting of their prophethood than Jesus was. the bible portrays Jesus as a defeatest, esp when Jesus is supposed to have said "Father why art thou forsaken me?!" If Jesus is God, was God talking to himself?

God needed to become visible so that man can see and know God. We also have Christ's life example recorded in the Bible. More visibility to how a life should be lived.

Jesus needed to die on the cross to save us from "our" sins so we could get to Heaven.

God loves his creation. He is God and sovereign. Therefore, he may do as he chooses. We cannot with our finite minds begin to understand his wisdom or his decisions because they are unsearchable. He gave us free will. Then he gave us the laws of Moses to follow. He chose Israel to be his holy people and gave them the laws to follow to please him. Because of the weakness of human flesh, which is sinful and cannot please God, Israel could not keep the law. Thank God for Jesus!
Being merciful, God decided to sacrifice himself. When Jesus was on the cross he became sin itself. Before he died he asked why the father had forsaken him, for in his human entity, representing pure evil and sin, he was forsaken by God who cannot abide sin. He got what he had coming to him! Death. However, after he gave up the ghost, humanity, he was raised again and restored to the father in divinity. Man could not destroy God wrapped in flesh. Jesus gave up his life to save us all.
Jesus was God the father wrapped in flesh. He offered himself a perpetual sacrifice for sin and extended his saving grace to all people, including you. However, he still allows a free will choice to believe or not to believe.
Many great Christians began as non-believers in Jesus, including Paul. Paul went on to become the writer of the majority of the books in the new testament which were written as letters of instruction to guide the early church.
A learned Christian is never disturbed by someone who says they don't believe in God. They know God can change anyone and they pray for those who do not believe. I am praying for you.
God bless you.
