This is my last question for the day. I have always wondered how unpredictable life can be. When I was young, I used to think my life is invincible that I will never get into accidents, or suffer from disease and live healthy till 80 or so.
But soon I realized the unpredictable nature of life with several near-death expereinces. In one occassion, I almost drowned to death and in another, I almost got hit by a car while riding bicycle. Those incidents made me think about life from different perspective.
I sometimes read on obituary section of newspaper about people who died from heart attack, car accidents, or illnesses. It is especially sad to read when the victim is young person with bright future ahead. I ask God why He chose to end that person's life when his/her life was barely starting and had so much potential for future.
Has anyone thought about the unpredictable nature of life? Can you share some of ur insights or thoughts with me?

I've always found this quote to be very enlightening...

"This is what's happening.
It cannot be otherwise."

Once you've embraced that concept, worrying just falls away...

I think about things like that all the time. Life is extremely unpredictable and no one is ever promised tomorrow. It's just sad to even think about it. We make all these plans, put things off, and say "Oh, I'll do whatever later." Be thankful that those near death experiences did not come to fruition because God apparently God needs you here on earth for a purpose.

The bible says it is appointed for man once to die, and then the judgment. For reasons not of our knowing, each of us has an appointment with death. It could be today, or ten years from now. Only God knows.

Another verse, "today is the day of salvation". Since no one knows when their last breath will be, putting off receiving Christ as savior isn't wise.

Yes, I know anything can happen. But, I don't worry about it. I know my life, this one and the one to come, are in God's keeping.

I have often wondered and thought the same as you , and have asked Why? Sometimes those who die are sick and will never be well so I think they are going to a better place , and those who die from terrible happenings are going to the same better place where no more sick sickness ,evil doings or anything bad will ever happen to them again. As for the ones who die and have nothing wrong with them it is the old saying and beliefs that everyone will die and it was their time to go. I do believe in that , we all cannot live to be old .dieing is a process of elimination . people die and babies are born to restart the cycle once again.

my mother in law passed away without anyone realising she was ill .. it was a terrible shock
my dad in law took it extremely bad and to this day still suffers
he asked me once why i believe in god .. and couldn't believe there was a god or he wouldn't have taken his wife
i said to him .. people die every day , they suffer , man has destroyed this place , with illness , with pollution , with carelessness , with drink driving and all these horrible things which lead to death ... god didn't do that
what i also said though was .. that without a god .. these people have simply ceased to exist
but with a god , these people are held in care ... in safe loving arms until we see them again one day
he found comfort in that and for the first time realised that if there is a god there ... then his wife would also be there for him
