Sliced apples, carrots ... maybe some roasted potatoes, provided you can keep them on the skewer.

Going back to history.....traditionally, cheese fondue is only served with chunks of delicious 'rustic, artisian' breads; rye, sourdough, french, etc.
Then came the 'oil' fondues that you dip and cook your meats, veggies in, then and not least, of course comes the chocolate fondue that you serve with angel food cake chunks, bananas, strawberries, oranges slices....whatever you like. So with cheese--stick with the bread!

Oops...did you mean 'side' dishes with the cheese fondue? well, after fondue, you head right for the entree. Unless you want just a split pea or lentil soup and crispy salad.

Entrees could be : Chicken parmargania, beef wellington or maybe a more traditional baked stuffed chicken halves with green beans and bacon, mashed potatoes, red cabbage and a nice slice of rich chocolate cake or apple strudel and ice cream for dessert!

try wrapping the Baron Verulam around particularly some the ham and turkey. Bread. i could even pass so some distance as apples ( i admire the Granny Smith with cheese fondue). Breads. Bread sticks. Crackers. pass with white wine.

Fruit is surprisingly good. Try meat too. Bread is still the best.

Try little cubes of cooked beef and chicken, some quartered sauteed mushrooms and pieces of raw apple.
