I agree with the others saying check her mouth if you can, she is very old being 20 years old. If you can take her to the vet ASAP... If you cant afford it google something like Pet Societies in your area. (Here we have the SPCA like the American SPCA but also Humane Societies) there might be a group that could help you pay to have her to sleep if needed. Just whatever you can do so she in not in pain.

Just a note: I know it sounds tuff but it's prob time to put her to sleep I had to with my old dog this last May he was 16 years old. Don't know if you believe in other things like spiritually, but my wife is partly physic and said he was here frustrated trying to tell me he is happy now and not to worry. I've heard noises before like he was here but nothing more.

It hurts us much much more than it does them when you have to put your pet down. Good luck and take care.

Hey, you guys. I have a 22 yr old cat who is doing pretty well for her age. Cats don't have to die at 15.

Of course I would take my old cat to a vet or any of my cats that was bleeding from the mouth.

You might however look in her mouth (she'll love that!) and see if it is a tooth that is causing the problem. Naturally it will have to be treated and it might save you from panicking today and going straight to the emergency vet. If it seems to be an injury in her mouth I would put in a call to her regular vet and most likely you will hear from the vet fairly soon.

Of course if the cat is bleeding massively from his month n in pain ...then of course seek attention PDQ !!!

But...to say put him down cause he is old nd has had a good long life...gawddd old doesn't mean death...bleeding gums does always mean the end of his world.....firstly if it is just a bit of blood....I would look for the source myself n see if could see ne thing......maybe he ate a crunchy n it hurt his gums(I have done this myself with a potato chip)..once u check out his mouth....u should be able to determine if u need to seek medical attention or home treatment ...vets are great truly...but u don't always need them...commonsense sometimes is enough....Hope everything turns out well for u n your kitty!!

20 years is a nice long life for a cat. I lost mine at age 19 recently.

Bleeding from the mouth can be anything. See a vet. Even if it is minor, she has little time left. Enjoy her while she is still around.

This is never good. She might have eaten something that cut her mouth or she could just have bleeding gums. You can use some peroxide or neosporin in her mouth but only a dab. If the bleeding continues bring her to your vet.

I hope that you have taken her to the vet. I hate to say it, but she may have had a heart attack especially since she is so old.

I am very sorry . :'( That's a long time. Keep the good things about her in mind. 20 years is a long time for a kittycat to live

Poor kitty! Look, if your cat is really 20 yrs old, she's led a VERY full life, for a cat. I know its a hard decision, but take her to the vet and have her euthanized. She deserves better than to die in pain!

It may be hard to hear, I know, I've experienced the same thing, I lost my dog like that. Take her to the vet. If he suggests to have her uthinized, it's the only way you can do to make her time left less painfull. I'm so sorry.
