well i baught a brother mfc 4420c.. everytime i plug in the usb it says MACHINE ERROR 41.. what should i do?

It turns out that you are not alone as a whole line of Brother printers have this problem. Models: Fax1800C, Fax1820C, Fax1920CN, MFC3100C, MFC3200C, MFC3220C, MFC3320CN, MFC3420C, MFC3820CN, MFC4420C, MFC4820C, MFC5100C, MFC5200C.
Not to worry. Even if your warranty has expired, they have extended it to 24 months for anyone experiencing this problem. Send it back to Brother and get it fixed for free (less shipping it to them).
Look at the page in my source list below. A poster going by the name of Brad (3/10/05 12:49 PM) has a very informative post on the subject.
I wasn't able to find much on the manufacture site (https://www.brother-usa.com/ - which could be much better, IMHO) but do check out the post by "Brad" on the page listed below and contact Brother's Technical support.

Type "MACHINE ERROR 41" into Google or Yahoo search. You'll see that there is a malfunction. Further reading may provide the workaround. I wish you luck!
