Say you are a Christian. You were born into a Christian family and you kind of took the fact that you were a Christian for granted. One day you decided that you want reallu look into the Bible so you could be a better Christian and be able to spread the word better. So you read the whole Bible. After finishing you say to yourself "Alot of things don't add up". Then you say that you don't believe anymore. You die and you were wrong so you go to Hell. Does it make sense that you were going to go to Heaven before but after reading scripture and searching for truth you become worse and go to Hell instead. In life it only makes sense that we are moving foward, not backwards. This same story could be applied for athiest or any other religions. I focused on Christianity becuase there the one with a Heaven and Hell. Another thing is why don't we just kill off all Christians before they change there mind? Then we would save them from damning themselves. You don't have to answer last question.

The answer to the last question would probably be answered like this "There won't be any more christians to save other people". I just put that question because its something to think about.

Assuming that we are confining ourselves to the Old and New Testament, without the Qabala, the Midrosh, or Talmud, or any of the Christian writings that were left out, then what would actually result is as follows:

Upon actually reading the bible, one would first realize that according to the rules set forth in the bible, that the teachings of every Christian church were such a violation of the intended principals as to ensure that one would go to hell automatically if you followed them. The second thing that you would realize was that the apostle Paul stood squarely against everything that Jesus taught, was never an apostle, and showed every sign of being a misogynistic schizophrenic.

At this point, you may be a stronger believer in Christ but not the church, or entirely lose faith. If you lost faith, this might ultimately result in you finding the proper religious path for you to approach God as an individual, or it might not, but either way blind lip service is a sure road to hell.

No one is a believer through "osmosis". That a person might grow up in a Christian household (I would assume you mean where both parents are believers?) does not grant salvation to the children. Jesus said that, unless you be born again, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. The person you are describing was never born again. And, after reading the bible and rejecting it, they were merely affirming their rejection of the only way to God...by Jesus Christ.

I would say that the person was never a Christian in the first place. There are many people just as you described...but ignorance of the scriptures does not mean one is saved.

This is the reason why I will teach my child about many religions, using Jesus's teachings as the starting point, but making sure they know about other religions. I want them to make the choice, and to be honest, I just hope they have a spiritual heart that brings them closer to a relationship with God.

Since you want to be a stronger Christian, satan will put you to a test. He will try and break you and put you farther from Jesus.
