When you are rich and beautiful everyone wants to be you or have everything that you have. They do not love you. When you are poor, and look like everyone else, no body cares to bother. Life in the positive or negative light...ends in sorrow, for both adore a materialistic life. As long as you are addicted to materialistic things, you will be under the influence of God's so-called Satan. Once you realize that materialistic things are worthless, you will be able to see how awful goodness is. For life is hollow in either direction. For example Heaven or Hell, both ideas of man. For a perfect being made out of love would never create a hell. Then if God is a lie, what are we, what is this world, are we alone? The answer is we are alone, to keep from crying we made up a God to save us from our tears, to keep from being evil, we built an imaginary world of goodness, but no matter how hard we try it is in our nature to sin. All we really have is each other. The cycle continues.

You might have made a good point, but you began with a false statement. Whoever said that everything in life is God's gift? Life might be God's gift, but everything in it is not a gift from him.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, is meaningless. There is a God and if you read the bible and know about trials and tribulations, which are things that are tough to go through in life which are mentioned by god, who wants us to go through them as a test to get into heaven. How can you say a newborn baby is meaningless? or beautiful memories of any sort growing up. Havn't you been out just say sightseeing? or being in nature? Haven't you tried to do any of these things? or maybe you already have. They are NOT meaningless! Nothing in this world is meaningless. We are here only for a certain amount of time. Each and everything should mean something to you! Even if its not fun. Like the saying goes, "Its not what your bring when you leave this world, its what you leave behind. Cheer up!!! We all go through things we dont care for. ITS A TEST!!!!

Let us correct a few things: there are at least 3 billion Christians, Muslims and Hebrews who believe in the higher wisdom of God--you are not speaking for any of them. If life is so meaningless, why do people every day cry for help from drownings, accidents, and spend millions of dollars in hospitals trying to get well? The fact that there is a system of reward and punishment bothers people who want to do as they please. We teach and believe that every action has an equal and opposite reaction--yet we do not want to believe that the same applies to the spiritual world? What I find unfair is, you should know that the Greeks learned from the Egyptians by Osmosis. The Romans for the most part learned from the Greeks. If we supposedly evolved, who taught the Egyptians and who taught the teachers of the Egyptians who built the pyramids?
When you compare the pyramids of Egypt--the remnant of a past civilization, it is obvious that we developed in an intellectual vacuum. With only 10% wisdom potential in use, I can understand your emptiness and frustration. I fly and I operate power boats. There is no way my mind would be at ease venturing into the Atlantic or Pacific with only a 10% tank of fuel.
You have lots to catch up on. However, there is hope.
Boaz.

Okay....first of all every thing isnt meaning less even though it may seem. It all started with Adam and Eve (of course we all know the story). Satan the devil was trying to prove that things could go his way....which it did (Adam and Eve ate the apple). God and Satan made a sort of bet. God gave our world to Satan (hence why things are so bad) to prove that no matter what, things would go his way at the end. Satan is trying to prove him wrong. God has the power to banish all evil and make everything alright whenever he wants and could have just made a new race of humans and started all over but because of the bet to prove that he is the one almighty,to prove that with out him the world would be violent, meaning less, and awful, the world is this way. We are here to prove Satan wrong. The world isnt meaning less if you understand what we are here to prove even though it may seem that way.

Interesting that you have placed so many questions on this board that indicate you are not a Christian and in fact almost anti-Christian. Yet, you hurt for answers, you have no satisfaction, nor contentment in life.
You say, all we really have is each other. I'm thinking, you don't even have that, do you? I'm not here to preach, your belief system is your own business. But you seem terribly discontent and unhappy with all your meaningless stuff.
You say, Life is hollow. I feel bad that you see life that way. Whatever belief system you choose, you need one that gives you a brighter view of life.

You are the only one that can make things meaningless, no one else can. That is your choice to make something meaningless or not. Just because something is meaningless for someone else doesn't mean it's meaningless for you. If you want to have meaning in life and all things that makes God happy and gleeful then ask God in your life and have Him help you. Then you'll find meaning in a lot of good things.

i appreciate this e book: Ecclesiastes a million:2 "conceitedness of vanities, all is conceitedness." i idea an same way before everything, yet go study it on the fringe of proverbs, through the years as you age and strengthen in understanding you'll come to discover this e book to be a gem. expertise with out understanding is incomprehensible and brings tremendous sorrow. Edit: Bob T, has understanding.

Meaningless is your interpretation.
Haven't you heard the one....
One man's junk is another man's gold.
I am so sorry your outlook on life is that bad.
Life is a beautiful ride. It may get rough but you form your own path, which in turn makes your character.
If you can't find it maybe you need help.
Materialistic things are worthless I agree, but my family and life are priceless. (I should make a Visa commercial)
Good Luck

heaven or hell or not ideas of man, they are creations of God. He is a perfect being of love, yes...that is exactly why he made the world perfect in the beginning, but MAN messed it up. and he was so loving that he made a way for us to get to that place called heaven. and hell had to be created...lucifer (satan) used to be the arch angel in heaven. but then he tried to make himself God, and he and his followers were banished from heaven. they had to have punishment for such utter and total rebellion. our loving and perfect God doesn't MAKE anyone go to hell, he gives EVERYONE a chance. but if they choose to reject Him, they make their own fate. we DO have meaning to life...HEAVEN! and we can live for a purpose: to serve God and love him whole-heartedly. then we will be able to appreciate his every gift.
