about why Christians seem to be "holy rolling, bible thumpers" who cram religion down your throat? Well, as a Christian, I will tell you why I am like that, and why there are others on here who are the same.
#1) The following is a definition of religion:
Main Entry: re·li·gion
Pronunciation: ri-'li-j&n
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English religioun, from Anglo-French religiun, Latin religion-, religio supernatural constraint, sanction, religious practice, perhaps from religare to restrain, tie back -- more at RELY
1 a : the state of a religious
b : the service and worship of God or the supernatural; commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
2 : a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
3 archaic : scrupulous conformity : CONSCIENTIOUSNESS
4 : a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

A non-believer does not believe in the existence of a higher power, nor do they worship God or the supernatural. Yet they are in the religion and spirituality section. Either you are here to A: learn about different religions or B: to stir up trouble for believers.(i.e. Insults, cursing, mis-quoting the Bible). We are here discussing our religion and spreading the teachings of our religion. You are here spreading no religious beliefs and some of you are spreading hate. Even if there were Hindus, Muslims or Buddhists here, at least they do have a religion that they are promoting, even if it is different from what Christians believe.

#2) We are commanded in OUR Bible to spread the word of God

Matthew 28:18-20: And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of age. AMEN

You ask why we believe that all who speak against God and Jesus, saying that they do not believe in him, will go to Hell? Because Jesus said so.

Mark 3:28-29: Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of man, and whatever blasphemies they may utter, but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation.

You have asked why is it that we believe that a murderer who asks forgiveness and is saved, but God will not allow non-believers and Atheists into Heaven? Because Jesus told us so.

John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

You use OUR Bible, which you claim not to believe is true, to try to dispute Christian beliefs, and most of the time are either mis-quoting them or mis-interpreting them. We are not spreading hate, in fact we are spreading love, because if we didn’t love our fellow man, even the ones who are putting us down, then we would leave you be and not even try to save you from an eternity in Hell. Even if you don’t believe in the existence of God or Jesus, Hell or Heaven, at least we care enough to not want you to end up in Hell.

That is why we are so passionate about our religious convictions.

I, for one, am proud to be a “BIBLE THUMPING, HOLY ROLLER”.

This was an answer to the questions that non-believers keep asking us. If you don't want us to answer your questions, then quit asking them.

To answer your question......NO. Nonbelievers on Yahoo Answers do not want us to give them proper answers to their questions. In most cases it appears that they just try to stir things up and make people mad. Some try to trip up the Christians on here and get them to contradict themselves or the Bible.

Don't give up spreading the Word.

First of all, your questions in this topic are posted in the main list, too. They're not only shown in their immediate category.

Second of all, a lot of times, atheists and agnostics decide to ask and answer within the Spirituality section because they do have beliefs even though they do not subscribe to a "religion." Like it or not, that has to be respected.

Third, when atheists and agnostics use the Bible to persuade a Christian to rethink things, they are usually pointing out a contradiction within the faith. It's not that they believe either way, but they are showing that the belief system itself is faulted. A lot of the time, they are doing this because they truly want to help the Christian to see things clearer and become a stronger person in both mind and heart.

Fourth, believe it or not, religious divisions themselves are the very source of a lot of disrespect and hatred. What if people agreed to respect one another and do good, regardless of which God is "the real God"? Don't you see how that would make peace and achieve the best result? And in the end, if there is a God, whatever his name is, he will be happy that all the people of creation are at peace.

You have some bad information, safe answers to all the worlds questions perhaps, but none the same, really illogical information.

From the start you you try telling others what they believe.
"""A non-believer does not believe in the existence of a higher power, nor do they worship God or the supernatural."""

Really sloppy reasoning skills here and there is no reason to give your thinking process's any merit.

I can safely tell you you are clearly not using your mind. Or have you been told that your mind is dangerous and will lead you away (from those brainwashing and controlling you).

Fundamentalism is a pitiful, and this is why.

"Either you are here to A: learn about different religions or B: to stir up trouble for believers.(i.e. Insults, cursing, mis-quoting the Bible)."

Neither. Actually most dull (to me) general religious questions I don't post to. Most of those I post to are the ones that ask about us (like you) or are offensive to non believers and is how I got pulled into this section in the first place. I didn't come here until I saw prejudiced questions about non believers on the main page of the site. Even though some believers post innocent questions, there are still some that are nasty hatred filled people (and some of your own post could be taken that way to, so...), or can you not see that? Don't be so blind, not all believers are spreading LOVE, a LOT of them are NOT. So please remember that while there will always be people, of BOTH sides, that just want to stir up trouble, some of us have legitimate reasons to be in this section.

If people didn't want us in this section, they shouldn't have started posting questions and staying ignorant stuff about us in the first place. Like I said, I didn't even come to this part until I saw some of those questions on the main page, so if it post here now it isn't exactly my fault now is it.

You know, pride is a sin. You argument falls apart, due to the fact that there is no hell, or Jesus. Why are Christians not in the mythology section? You should not be proud to be a bible thumper. Just because a book says to do something does not mean you should. That is how wars got started. The Koran said to kill people. I can write a book that says to eat children, and that does not justify it. You have tried to use the bible to justify the bible, and that does not work. You question does not come close to addressing the issue. Nice try, but you don't seem to understand any of it.

Of course we use your own Bible against you. It's the only thing you have a chance at listening to. And we don't misquote it, either. I can claim with all honesty that I have ran into many Christians who have not read the Bible all the way through even once. I've gone through it several times and have concluded that (contrary to the minds of the fundies) the Bible can be used to support absolutely anything...from freedom and brotherhood to slavery and murder.

When Bible-thumpers come along, it isn't about "rescuing" anybody. Their efforts are not about "reaching out with love". It's all about control. Their attempt to control you and get you to live your life according to their moral system. Bible-thumpers rant and rave about anyone they don't think is acceptable to God (ie: them), and somehow think that their rage is going to win them any support. Worse yet, these people are trying everything they can to drag science and education backwards into superstition and fear. Why? Because that's where they're strongest. When people don't know any better, they are easy to control by emotional appeals.

Sorry, but "because Jesus (we) say so", isn';t enough to cut it with me. I need proof. Rationality. Facts. Emotional appeals (and threats) do more to turn me off than nearly anything else.

Well, I'm certainly glad you're so much better than the rest of us. I guess the fact that your sh*t doesn't stink is supposed to help me accept Jesus as my personal savior?

Nice to see you're thinking for yourself, instead of blindly following a book written by men which promotes people burning in a lake of fire for eternity for not believing in God, but lets murderers off scott free. Where is the justice, the good, the love in that? Oh, wait, you do just take the Bible as the word of your sick, twisted God. If this book is the word of God, then it is everyone who says it promotes any kind of hate that are misinterpreting it.

I'm glad you can devote your life to supporting such a cruel Creator and put so much energy into getting others to support such hatred as well.

To be honest I didn't read all of your comments but what I did read , well. it is the same thing over and over. People believe what they want and believe in who they want. They have their own views, beliefs and thoughts. I never argue the fact because I am the same as they are in my feelings and all the other I mentioned. take a break and don't be so harsh.. Their are things you don't believe in that others do .

Very nice and well spoken.

There's nothing wrong with telling others about what you believe.
If I am excited about something, I am naturaly going to want to tell others about it.
Thats all Christians are doing, is spreading what they are excited about.

Not all people are here to cause a stir, but many are. Everyone has a right to be here, but I agree with you. It seems many are here to disperse hate.
I encourage you to pray for those who are lost.

I am a non-believer but I do agree with you that if you don't want to hear about religion, stay away from the religion and spirituality section

How pious of you. Thanks for gracing us with your wisdom. Here I was under the assumption that it was alright to question religious beliefs. But you have shown me that I should just believe whatever nonsense a 'holy' person tells me. I am proud to be a self-sufficient, free-thinking human being. Save your rhetoric for Sunday sista. Some of us do not care to hear your opinion. And it is your opinion, not fact.
