To accept the Jesus of the Bible is to accept that all of us are sinful men, who cannot save our souls by any act of our own.
To accept the Jesus of the Bible is to accept that there is one way to God and one only that frees us from the consequences of our sin (which is eternal condemnation away from the presence of the Lord--popularly known as hell), and that that one way is through the cross of Jesus Christ.

I think he gospel of John said it most succinctly: John 3:16-21.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the light , that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

The sin in us hates to be exposed and most people would rather climb Mt. Everest in an effort to get saved than come to Jesus, as a sinner, deserving hell, recognizing sin, and throwing themselves upon his mercy who made them.

I'd say very few people hate Jesus. They just hate Christians. Like the great orator and philosopher Robert Ingersoll said,"If Jesus were alive today there's one thing he would not be...a Christian." Chrisitians have brought it on themselves. Throughout history conservative "Christians" have hindered social progress everywhere they've been. it was conservative "Christians" that suppoted slavery, and segregation, and opposed women gaining the right to vote, and progress in the sciences. Don't get me wrong, there have been Christians on the right side of issues and even at the forefront (like MLK, jr) but for the most part Christians have taken the wrong side of nearly every issue in American history. I have a feeling that what Jesus envisioned probably died after the "Christianizing" of the Roman empire in 313 AD. That was the downfall of the church. Christians were supposed to be on the cutting edge of changing society, instead they have become the very structure that resist change the most. Think about it a second. Segregation ended in the US (for all practical purposes) in the late 60's. But go to any typical church today. They are the most segregated institutions in our society. Once again the church is behind the rest of society by several decades. Anyway, I could go on and on....

I don't think people HATE Jesus. Some just don't believe he was the son of god even if he was a really nice guy who had an important message. Other people are just fed up with the hypocrisy of many Christians.

Dear Jeremiah: Jesus says: "I have great need for lilies,. . .[the Gift of Lilies} for the sons of God have not forgiven me."

In recent communion with Jesus, I asked Him why he said this?
I had never heard of anyone hating Him. It's such a strong emotion, don't you think? His answer to me is as follows:

He said that when He came to earth to be amongst us, He brought with Him the Truth about us - Our Reality.

When He Ascended, he entered our Minds - at our individual invitation - to teach and He came through carrying Our Reality to us. He entered the small door behind which we hide.

We are in a state of Separation in this physical life. Many. Many.. . of us can not forgive Him for the Truth about us that He has carried to us. For every one of us who loves Truth and wants to know. . .many others shun the Truth and would shut Him out. He knows of this. . . The Separation is not a joke. It wasn't in the Garden of Eden - but in Eternity that it occurred. The Plan was set by the Creator/Father for our individual Return - One-by-One. But until this is completed, there are many who will turn their backs on Him. The Separation was traumatic. It need not be. It was an error - nothing more. No guilt. Nothing harmed. All can be corrected if you allow Him to teach you. Your Father's Sacred Heart is open to you - He awaits your Return. Just an error - a subject in itself for discussion.

When One-by-One we forgive Jesus for the intrusion of Reality He brought to us, He is lifted up higher. He loves with a Sacred Heart - just like the Creator/Father.

They are willingly blind because Christ`s teachings pointed to repentance and people today don`t want to accept the fact that they have done anything to repent for. They feel as though they can`t possibly do anything wrong,so why would they want to accept a Savior. They don`t think they need one.But many finally do come to the light,so be patient with these people. They may be your Christian councellor one day.Apostle Paul held the soldiers coats as they killed Christ`s followers, until he saw the light. Then he became a faithful servant of the Lord.

Because Jesus foretold of it. There are many reasons why, some Christians bring upon themselves, by their own actions. Many so-called Christians deny Jesus by their actions. That is unbelievable by any measure. Then who Jesus is, that is another reason, for one that wishes not believe what Jesus is, is an affront to them. Then the real ruler of this world and we know why that hatred is there.

All these things come together to form one really great hatred.

Why should anyone hate Jesus? He seemed like any political radical who wanted to screw the ruling forces. The Romans didn't like him much. The High Priests of the Jewish Temple didn't like him either because of his outrageous views. But since that unpleasantness he has been dead. I never knew the guy. I don't hate him. Mind you.... I find many of his followers rather whacko. Some of them are downright nuts. Them I don't like too much.

"CHRISTIANS ARE BEING PERSECUTED"

Ever hear the phrase, "You can dish it out, but you can't take it"? That's what's happening when Fundamentalists use this statement. They have been on the attack for years now, trying to deny rights to homosexuals, trying to outlaw abortions, trying to keep women from obtaining equal rights, and trying to impose their own morals - many of them non-biblical - on the rest of society. Non-Fundamentalists are finally fighting back by speaking out against their campaigns, their media onslaughts, and their mistaken notions of truth, and the Fundamentalists don't like it very much. They can dish it out, but they can't take it. So when people of good conscience stand up for their rights, Fundamentalists cry foul - they claim they are being persecuted.

Fundamentalists see this "persecution" as biblical proof of being on God's side. It's not. Their so-called persecution is merely the rest of society defending itself from their attacks. Their so-called persecution is merely being called to the carpet for their actions. Their so-called persecution comes in the form of editorials that don't paint them in a glowing light or legislation that goes against their made-truths. If they can't get their schools to allow them to pray to their God during class time, they claim they are being attacked. What would happen if Buddhists and Muslims tried to get the same special rights? Fundamentalists would be beside themselves in anger.

This is not the persecution mentioned in the Bible. The leaders of the Christian Coalition are not being hung on crosses (Philippians 2:8). The leaders of the Family Research Council are not being stoned to death (Acts 7:59). The leaders of Focus on the Family are not being thrown to the lions (Daniel 6:16). And yet these people have the gall to claim they are being persecuted in God's name. They are not. All they have to worry about is someone calling them bad names and denying them their request for favoritism.
